Teaching Reflection #2
Due: Wednesday, September 21 8:00 am D2L/icollege only (emailed or hard copies not
accepted)
1. Identify the skill theme and movement concept(s) targeted for this lesson.
Underhand throw with light and strong force
My center specifically worked on stepping in opposition
3. Did your students meet the objective(s)? How do you know? (Give specific
data to support your answer.)
Based on the data recorded in the table below, 100% of the students
met the lesson objective since all 10 of the students made at least 3 of
the 5 attempts at stepping in opposition. Only 2 students did not step
properly 100% of the time.
Group Student # Attempt # Attempt # Attempt # Attempt # Attempt Total

4. Use the assessment data to identify the next task you would teach in this
skill progression – if you were to continue teaching this skill.
Since the students did so well stepping in opposition, I would plan an
extension task that incorporates the full underhand throwing motion
including stepping in opposition. I would use tasks similar to those
that my group used in the initial underhand throwing lesson.
Performing an underhand throw with correct form (including stepping
in opposition) by throwing into a hula hoop or at a target of some sort.
6. How would you change this lesson if you were to teach this content again?
If I were to teach this content again, I would incorporate a better way
for be to show students how to perform the motion during
demonstration. Since the room was so small, there wasn’t a lot of
room for me to get in front of them to talk and demonstrate what to
do.
