Argentina's Independence

Day

Argentina's independence declared on 9 th of July 1816, in the congress of

Tucuman. This event was starting when in 1810 in the Virreinato del Rio de la
Plata, broked out the May Revolution. On April 15 th 1815, a revolution ended the
unitary government of Carlos Maria de Alvear. The revolution demanded the
convocation of a General Congress. Initially deputies were sent from all
provinces sessions starting March 24 th 1816. Today, on 9 th of July celebrated the
day of the declaration of independence and for this important event we are a
free and sovereign country.
