To Whom It May Concern:

I am writing on behalf of Mr. Isaiah Patterson, senior at Western High School. I have had the pleasure of
teaching Isaiah in my English 12 class this semester. Throughout our interactions together, Isaiah has impressed
me as a young man of integrity. He is driven, a leader, and consistently strives for excellence in all he pursues.

Isaiah stands out in my mind for his richness of character and desire to lead others in a positive way. He looks
for opportunities to help others, not only in the classroom, but in his community. Isaiah is the first person to
help his fellow classmates during class. When a student is struggling, Isaiah selflessly works to help reach out to
that student and provide additional support. Additionally, Isaiah organizes and leads a prayer circle every
Wednesday morning before school. He also has participated in several mission trips, including two trips to Haiti
(and another one in January 2018), a trip that continues to impact and guide his decisions and character. Isaiah
volunteered to be a counselor at our district’s fifth grade camp, an opportunity that requires chosen counselors
to miss school and make up work, which he did quickly and without a reminder from me. Finally, Isaiah helps
out on Wednesday nights at his church with middle school age students. Isaiah’s altruistic and selfless spirit are
refreshing and commendable.

Socially, Isaiah is well liked among his peers. He exudes school spirit and can often be found leading the charge
cheering on our school’s various sport teams. Isaiah is a natural leader and easily commands a room. He
effortlessly walks that difficult line of fitting in but not being a follower.

Academically, he strives for excellence in all of his assignments. He works hard and is focused on doing well in
all of his classes. He almost always gets his assignments done early and asks clarifying questions when he
requires better understanding of something. He is not happy with less than his best and daily strives to maintain
this level of excellence. He impresses me as a young man who wants to be successful in all aspects of his life.

It is an honor to know Isaiah Patterson and be a part of his education. I am confident he will be met with success
in whatever future endeavors he chooses to pursue. Isaiah’s richness of character and pursuit of excellence are
commendable. He will be an asset to any college student body.

Sincerely,

Jeanette Parker
