5 minutes Motivation stage:
T asks ss about what they think about mother’s day and whether they celebrate it or not.
T: how do you celebrate mother’s day? Do you buy presents?
Ss: we buy perfumes and cards
T: when do you celebrate it
Ss: on 28 May individually
Ss2: no; on 8 March
5 minutes Pre-teaching vocabulary:
Tribute = acknowledgment / coincides = happen at the same time
T: what do we call the presents we buy to her?
T: they are called special tributes to acknowledge her efforts
T: so some celebrate it on the same day as woman’s day. It coincides with women’s day.
5 minutes First reading:
T asks ss to see page 99 and tell questions they are expecting the text to answer
T elicits the questions and write them on the board
Focus questions:
1- why do we celebrate mother’s day
2- How do we celebrate mother’s day?
3- What are the special gifts?
4- What are the food and drinks served on that day? In pairs

T asks ss to read the text and answer those questions.

15 minutes SECOND READING:
