GOAL: The percentage of 3rd grade students as a whole scoring at proficiency or higher will increase from 18% to 50% by the
beginning of March as measured by common assessment administered on the Trimester 1 writing assessment given at the end of
October Students will know how to write a tag, correct punctuation, quotation is on topic, provides evidence, and the evidence is from
the text.

REASONING: On the Trimester 1 writing assessment administered on October 30, 2017, 18% of students scored proficient in
development with evidence. The common core state standard CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.W.3.2 states students need to write
informative/explanatory texts to examine a topic and convey ideas and information clearly and CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.W.3.2.B
states that students need to develop the topic with facts, definitions, and details..
