FINECOAT® - HR 703QD
(CORROSION RESISTANT COATING – Class ‘F’)

PRODUCT

FINECOAT®- HR703QD is a quick drying, single pack electrically insulating, moisture

protesting and heat resistant coating containing heat stable colouring agents and binders.

APPLICATION

FINECOAT®-HR703QD is a heat resistant primer cum electrically insulating paint for

core packs, stacks, boiler pipes and furnace structures etc., where protection to humid,
moderate corrosive marine and industrial environment and heat resistance are required.

APPLICABLE STANDARDS

FINECOAT®-HR 703QD generally meets the requirements of IS :13183 (1991).

Finish : Glossy
Dry film thickness : 15-20 microns per coat
Theoretical covering capacity : 10 sq.m. / lit @20 microns dft.
Application method : Brush or Spray
Drying time @300C
(i) Surface dry : < 30 minutes
(ii)Hard dry : < 2 hours
Curing Schedule : 130oC for 30 minutes
Recoating period : Minimum 24 hours; No maximum.
Dielectric Strength : > 40 kV/mm
Heat Resistance : 200oC (as per Annex.B of IS:13183-1991)
Corrosion resistance : Passes neutral salt spray test, as per
IS:13183-1991.
Compatible top coats : FINECOAT®-HR 703QD
SURFACE PREPARATION

Substrate must be free of oil, grease and moisture before grit blasting. It is preferable to grit
blast to Sa 2 1/2 as per SIS-05-5900, white metal as per IS :1477-1971 or class 21/2 of AS
1627.4. When grit blasting is not possible, hand/power brush cleaning should be done to
obtain Sa 2 finish.

STORAGE AND HANDLING

Storag : Store in a cool, dry place.

Shelf life : Minimum 12 months when stored in original sealed
containers.
Disposal : Dispose by incineration or as per local regulations.

SAFETY INFORMATION

Fire hazard class : Inflammable

Flash point :  23o C
Precautions : As a general rule, inhalation of solvent vapours or
paint mist must be avoided. Forced ventilation must
be provided while applying the paint. Wear
protective clothing like face-mask, gloves and
overalls.
