Our High School Graduate

to be recognized Sunday May 13

Nic Stouffer will graduate from Sandusky Central Catholic School (formerly St.
Mary’s High School) on May 27, 2018. Nic is the son of Jim and Heather
Stouffer.

Nic Shares: “I’ve definitely learned a lot and grown as a person thanks to
everyone at Firelands Presbyterian Church. Having a second family that doesn’t
just keep up with what you’re doing on Facebook but also makes a personal
connection with you is something you don’t forget. Some of my favorite
memories from FPC include going to church early to meet in our confirmation
class and dressing up as a little sheep in our interactive performances as a
congregation. I plan to attend Bowling Green State University this fall and
major in Business Management and I’m truly blessed to have such great support from everyone here at Firelands
Presbyterian Church.”

Merissa Jagucki will graduate from Port Clinton High School on June 2, 2018.
Merissa is the daughter of Todd and Dani Jagucki and the granddaughter of Joyce
and Tom Jagucki.

Merissa Shares:

Over the course of high school I have participated in many different clubs and
activities throughout the school. I have been in our student council organization for
three years as well as being the treasurer this past year. I am also in National
Honor Society, ski club, international club, and I am the class of 2018 secretary. I
also was in Future professionals in medicine and band playing the flute. I play the
piano and play volleyball both in school and in a club team in Elyria. I am attending
the University of Cincinnati in the fall and I am majoring in biochemistry. I can’t
wait to see what the future holds!

On May 13th, please join us for refreshments from 9:30 – 10:15 a.m. to
honor our two graduating seniors.
We will not have a coffee hour following our worship service and since this day is also Mother’s Day, we hope that you
may spend special time with your families.

Preschool News
April has not only been a busy month, but it went by very fast as well. We stayed busy
with April Showers, Nursery Rhymes, Community Helpers, and Earth Day activities.

We spent a week talking about rainy April weather. We did several science experiments
about rain in addition to our regular center activities.

The kids loved learning about Nursery Rhymes. We practiced sequencing different
rhymes, made crafts, and has leaning stations for different rhymes. The dramatic play
area had princess dresses, a dragon costume, and lots of other fun costumes to dress up
in.

Community Helpers week was a big hit, especially in the dramatic play area. Part of our
classroom was transformed into a Hospital complete with stethoscopes, blood pressure
cuffs, bandages, cotton balls, and much much more! In addition to learning about hospital
and doctors office staff, we talked about teachers, construction workers, chefs, farmers,
mail carriers and much much more!

We spent the last week of the month talking about Earth Day and recycling. We started off the week with a visit from
Ms. Amanda from OSS. She read us The Lorax and talked to us about taking care of the trees. The kids we very
excited to show off our "Recycling Center" in our dramatic play center. The kids practiced sorting items and cleaning
up.

In addition to our everyday routines, we had visits from some of the Kindergarten Teacher from Bataan. We had our
monthly visit from Mrs. Winke from the library. This month she read books and sang songs about bugs.
