Constructing a Hypothesis

Agents, remember that a hypothesis is an educated interference or idea about how a


certain situation occurs or how an object/process works. In this case, you will be
gathering your knowledge of the interviews, research, and symptoms to make an educated
guess as to how this disease was transmitted as well as provide precautions for the public.

Your hypothesis should be something that can actually be tested: measuring/matching


what you do with what will happen.

Use the following sentence stems to help you put together your hypothesis. Fell free to
deviate from the model if it doesn’t fit your thoughts.

Example: Based on observations of a monkey in a zoo or monitored setting where other


human beings are noticeably present, if an animal care-taker places a banana covered in
peanut butter near human beings, then a monkey will overcome social anxiety to retrieve
and eat the banana.
