Work Experience

 Office Assistant - June 2015 – April 2016 ACIAR, Australian High Commission, Islamabad
Work Description:

-Initial point of contact for Australia Center for International Agricultural Research- Country Office Islamabad, directly reporting
to Country Manager.
-Assisting Country Manager in day to day operations when he was on field visits.
-Involvement in Recruitment and selection process for Country Office.
-Communication with Head office in Canberra for office updates and approvals where necessary.
-Providing assistance and facilitation to projects teams coming from Australia and act as liaison for them and local partners.
-Liaising with DFAT security team for approval of visits and arranging security briefing on arrival in Pakistan.
-Arranging NOC/Visa Supports letters from local Government departments for Australian project partners.
-Performing finance related duties in collaboration with finance department of DFAT for matters such as payments on behalf of
project partners, reimbursements to locals, procurements for project and country office, and processing of salaries. Also, assisting
in budgeting and updating financial accounting reports for administrative and departmental expenses.
-Arranging workshops/ meetings/ conferences for the projects in Islamabad, Lahore and other places depending on requirement,
budget and mainly security.
-Travelling on site of event (locally & nationally) if required for the facilitation or presence.
-Supporting Executive Assistant of High Commissioner on arranging ACIAR event at HC residence and where HC has to be host,
such as writing and sending out invitations, chasing RSVPs and compiling guest lists. Liaising with the Residence staff on set up
and arrangements for dinners in Residence Manager’s absence.
-Mail handling, drafting replies, posting ACIAR related correspondence. Log all incoming invitations, seek advice where necessary,
and ensure RSVPs are sent promptly.
-Writing articles/ blogs on activities in Pakistan related to projects of ACIAR.
-Maintaining contacts database.
-Voluntary work in arranging events of High Commission.

 Private Office Assistant - January 2015 – May 2015 - British High Commission, Islamabad
Work Description:
-Initial point of contact for all external phone calls to HC and DHC: assisting callers where possible, filtering calls for HC & DHC,
and re-directing as required
-Initiating action on all mail addressed to HC and DHC. Requesting draft replies, chasing and monitoring responses to ensure
replies are sent within 10 working days. Log all incoming invitations, seek advice where necessary, and ensure RSVPs are sent
promptly
-Entering of all unclassified work for HC and DHC and drafting letters
-Support Residence Manager on HC’s entertainment: writing and sending out invitations, chasing RSVPs and compiling guest lists.

-Arranging orientation and mandatory practical induction sessions for new staff

-Liaising with British Clinic and Security section for health care and security arrangements respectively

 Designing itineraries for project teams or delegation visiting Pakistan and having alternative plans
for any uncertainty. Besides traveling for official work, I have travelled to Singapore, Malaysia
and Thailand by myself, I see it as my personal strength to organize visits/ trips
 Organized the high level Australian delegate visit to ACIAR project sites in Pakistan and meetings
with Minister and other government officials
 Trained as Fire Warden and Effective administration and business support in British High
Commission, Islamabad. There were other internal trainings which were related to their work
scenarios
 Team Player, worked for events organized in previous organizations such as Spring Festival,
Australian Day and Queen’s Birthday Party where colleagues from different departments worked
together.
 Presentation skills demonstrated during the delivery of inductions at job for new staff and UK based
