Educational Philosophy
The purpose of the student in the classroom is determined by the teacher and will always
will be determined by the teacher, yet there are various means of teaching inside the classroom
which are called educational philosophies. There are five mainstream educational philosophies:
perennialism, realism, idealism, experimentalism, existentialism, and these range from strict
rigorous mindsets in the classroom to intrepid mindsets carried out by the teacher as well as the
student in the classroom. Over my last few years of receiving instruction I have found that strict
structures of learning are the most hurtful to students, on the other hand self-teaching
curriculums can also harm students’ confidence and critical thinking capacity. School is meant to
give students critical thinking skills that will be used in their work force, along with diligence to
push on during adversity. Rancorous teachers can harm a person’s ability to succeed in life, that
is why it so important for instructors to succeed in their profession; the role of teachers in the
classroom, and the qualities a teacher should have determines the outcome of the student.
The role of teachers in the classroom effects the outcome of how students learn and adapt
to their new environment. The role of the teacher in the classroom is to be the center of attention
for all the students in the classroom and give them the knowledge they need to complete the
assignments you give to them. Students learn best when they are given a stream of information,
then are given a project and are expected to use that knowledge given to complete that project.
This form of teaching gives students confidence and allows them to think critically. The goals of

the student should be to gain critical thinking skills and diligence that they can use when they
pursue their career. Though the way a teacher teaches isn’t all about their student-teacher
A teachers’ qualities can also affect the students in the classroom, it is important for their
qualities to benefit everyone in the classroom. An effective teacher should have an abundance of
empathy to sympathize with the students during their adversity. Teachers should also be able to
teach in various ways because students often learn in many ways. All students can learn no
matter what their circumstance is, students just need some cooperation form their instructors.
Teachers owe their students patience, communication, and fair treatment. A student cannot learn
something on their first go, students need the benefit of the doubt. Students also need to be able
to be aware of what is occurring in their environment. Fair treatment implies that teachers do not
discriminate against each student, and they understand the circumstances students endure while
in school.
In conclusion I believe that teachers must be the center of the classroom and bestow a
stream of knowledge to the students. Teachers should also give students to the ability to apply
their own critical thinking to assignments and projects. Teachers should have sympathizing
qualities to ensure their students’ success. I believe that my educational philosophy closely
resembles Mortimer’s educational perennialism. My views corelate with theirs because I believe
that the master teachers the student, and the teachers must deem what’s important to learn in an
ever-changing society. Ideologies follow a student longer than any fact or written scripture.
