Present Perfect Cards: Teacher’s Notes


Target Structure: Present Perfect ‘Have you ever’
Vocabulary: General
Level: Elementary and above
Time: 30 minutes, dependent on discussion
Preparation: Cutting up cards

Suggested Teaching Method

Students should work in groups of three or four.

Make one photocopy of the sheet for each group, and cut the cards up.

Give out one set to each group.

The cards should be placed face down. One student should take a card and ask the others in the group.

Encourage follow-up questions.

Monitor for mistakes, but don’t join in unless really necessary.

At the end, write some of the errors you heard on the board, and encourage self / peer correction.
