n d. The coarse aggregate gradation is maintained within ASTM C 33
U requirements for the particular size;
e. The w/cm ratio defined in the Owner approved mixture designs is not
increased.

3.1.19 Requalification of the mixture strength is required if major changes to ingredient

quantities , necessitated by significant variations in the chemical or physical properties of

i
j - 3.2 FLOWABLE FILL
I! ij d Prepare and submit a design for flowab le fill for general backfill applicat ions. The use of
i
I fly ash as a major constituent is acceptable. In general , the ingredients used for

I1 flowable fill should confo rm to the same requirements as specified for concrete .
Exceptions will be granted, however, if a suitable mixture can be developed using non-
standard materia1s such as crushed , recycled concrete, poorly graded fine aggregate,

IR etc. Proportion the mixture such that it will easily flow into excavated areas with minimal
consolidation and bleed. Assure that the mixture will attain no less than 350 KPa and
no grea ter than 550 KPa compressive strength at 28 days . Use of admixtures for
limiting strength gain is acceptab le. Obtain Owner approval of the flowab le fill mixture
design prior to use.

3.3 MANUFACTURE
3.3.1 Provide a primary batching facility with a stationary mixer having a manufacturer's
rated product ion capacity of 100 cubic meters per hour (minimum) and a secondary
, ,, fac ility (either central mix or dry-batch type ) with a rated production capacity of 50 cubic
meters per hour. Provide documentation that any plant that will be erected at the

provided,

3.3.3 Equ ip the plant with sufficient capability to coo l the fresh concrete (aggregates

3.3.4 Using a Owner app roved independent laboratory, perform unifo rmity tests on
mixers (stationary and transit) in accordance with ASTM C 94/C 94M prior to production

minimum mixing durat iort establi shed remain valid.

3.3.5 Conform to ASTM C 94/C 94M for the batching plant, mixers , and agitators. Meet

entries. Provide a copy of this record with each delivery along with the batch ticket as
described in ASTM C 94/C 94M .

Status 1: Work may proceed.
.j The document conforms to procurement document requirements. The document requires no changes or additions. Matters
remaining to be resolved do not require document change and w;11 be handled by correspondence. Where it is known that the
i design information on a Seller/Subcontractordocument is not complete and re-submittals will be required, e.g., due to "hold" areas.
d the document Is assigned another status code.
Status 2: Revise and resubmit. Work may proceed SUbject to resolutJon of Indicated comments.
The document Is In basic conformance with procurement document requirements. Minor deviations from procurement document
requirements have been noted or other minor technical or physical changes in the equipment are required. Such changes may
include those affecting dimensions, material, colors, etc. Administrative type changes, such as inclusion of equipment or tag
numbers and shipping notes, may be combined with technical changes in this status. The Seller/Subcontractor shall resolve
comments and resubmit documents prior to shipment of commodity.
Status 3 : Rejected. Revise and resubmit.
The document;
• Does not conform to the procurement requirements.
• Is of a design that is technically unacceptable without significant changes,
• Does not meet project requirements, i.e ., orientation of equipment, nozzles. conduit connections, etc.,
• Does not conform to project criteria or with proposal documents or data. or
• Does not meet minimJm submittal requirements.
This submittal rejection does not relieve Seller/Subcontractor of any schedule commitments.
Status 4: Review not required.
The document is not subject to Buyerl Owner review, Typical uses for this stetus are In the review of items that are
