Name: Sharon Witzgall Lesson Title: Exploring gravity through ramps

Date: 4/16/18 Grade Level: Preschool Circle one: ECE PKSN
Standard(s)/Guideline(s): Make predictions
Pre-assessment of current knowledge: The students will previously be aware of the concept of a ramp and the knowledge that there are different sizes and
different angles.

Reflection: (What have you learned about your students? How will this inform future instruction?)
During this experience, I expected to be setting up the different heights for the ramps each time and having more control over the lesson. I was happily
surprised when a few of the students took it upon themselves to find other blocks to add to increase the angle of the ramp and even create a second ramp to have
“races.” The students were very interested in the speed of the cars and the concept of racing the cars down the ramp. When it comes to future instruction, if I do a
similar lesson, I plan on providing more materials so each student can make their own ramp. The students thoroughly enjoyed racing the cars down different
ramps, so I plan to allow that to be more present in the future. It was interesting to me what direction the students took the lesson, since it is always unpredictable.
