Dental product for dental pulp devitalization

“DEVITAL”

INDICATIONS
The scope of use is dentistry. Professional use in the healthcare facility. Dental product DEVITAL is used
for quick and painless devitalization of the tooth pulp.

SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS
Drug idiosyncrasy.
Don’t misuse.
Use with great care for patients allergic to lidocaine hydrochloride.
Don’t swallow. If swallowed wash out the stomach and consult a doctor.

POSSIBLE ADVERSE EFFECTS

If the conditions of storing, transporting and following the instructions are satisfied, there are no adverse
effects.

COMPOSITON AND CLINICAL PHARMACOLOGY

Dental product DEVITAL is an arsenic-free preparation which presents ready to application fibrous paste
of white colour which contains:
- polyoxymethylene – antiseptic which coagulates proteins for necrosis of pulp tissue;
- lidocaine hydrochloride – anesthetic component reduces a pain risk during the devitalisation of the tooth
pulp;
- eugenol – antimicrobial component;
- paste-forming component, colourant and fiber filler.
Using an arsenic-free paste provides prolonged and painless devitalisation during 1-5 days. Adding zinc
oxide and eugenol 1:1 (according to the volume) gives the opportunity to use this paste in paediatric
dentistry.
This product is produced for using in aggressive biological environment at temperatures between 32°C
and 42 °C (in the mouth cavity at temperature (37±1)°C and humidity 60-90 %).
Warning! In case of paste leakage through the temporary filling (the scent and flavor of clove oil) the
patient must consult a specialist.

METHODS OF ADMINISTRATION
Remove carious infected dentine with the help of the dental excavator. Apply the necessary paste
quantity (2 mm ball) with the help of instruments on the dental pulp horn or very close to it, then spread
the water-base dentine of cream-like consistency or a ready-made paste (Tempodent) hermetically
without pressing. After pulp devitalisation pulpotomy and the treatment of root canal are necessary in
case of pain absence.
Warning! In case of the increased pain after applying this paste (the dental pulp horn is not open or the
paste is applied very tightly) there is the need for infiltration anaesthesia with lidocaine hydrochloride and
paste application very close to the pulp.
Close the jar tightly after use.

STORAGE
Store at a temperature of 5°C to 25°C.
Tightly close container immediately after use.
Do not use after expiry date.
Shelf life: 3 years from date of manufacture.
