Abstract: As in the majority other technical and management fields, information management is fast
becoming the key to effective action in animal health. A modern veterinary service requires effective
systems for gathering relevant information from the field, processing it in ways which provide maximum
value, and presenting it in a form which is easy for national policy-makers and field staff to use in
implementing appropriate actions to achieve effective disease control. This paper describes seven
objectives which should form the basis for developing an integrated national animal health information
system. It also specifies six criteria which any information-gathering activity should be required to meet
before it is allowed to commence. For each of the seven objectives, a description is given of how the
particular component of the system can be used, with examples of how such information management
procedures have been implemented in practice. Attention is drawn to other papers in this issue which
describe various innovative techniques currently used to meet some of the objectives of a modern animal
health information system.

CHAPTER # 1

INTRODUCTION

Computer is an electronic device used in almost every field even where it is most
unexpected. That is why this age is called as the era of IT. And now we cannot
imagine a world without computers. It is made up of two things one is the hardware
and other is software. All physical components of computer like keyboard, mouse,
monitor etc. comes under the hardware whereas all the programs and languages used
by the computer are called software. These days’ computers are the tools for not only
engineers and scientists but also they are being used by millions of people around the
world. Computer has become very important nowadays because it is very much
accurate, fast and can accomplish many tasks easily. Otherwise to complete those
tasks manually much more time is required. It can do very big calculations in just a
fraction of a second. Moreover it can store huge amount of data in it. We also get
information on different aspects using internet on our computer. In the current world,
it’s almost impossible to imagine that someone can live without computers.
Computers have become an electronic device of almost every day use for individuals
of every age. They are essential in almost all the business dealings that are made
nowadays. The most that any industry has gained from the discovery of the computers
is the business industry because of its nature. Computers have gained significance as
they have improved the efficiency and productivity of work done. Large amounts of
information in industrial and business sectors as well as in the personal lives are
stored on computers. Computers can help businesses by making their staff efficient
and productive and also save their valuable time in any business or office. Computers
in schools will help the learners to comprehend the basic concepts better with the help
of video or audio examples. Computers in higher learning institutions will help the
professors and researchers to do their work very fast and in an efficient and better
way and also help them to share the same knowledge with their other members of

staff. Computers become a vital gadget in several sectors; railways, banking,

electricity, telephone departments, shopping etc are just but a few of them.

1.1Objectives

The objective of the proposed system was to provide information about animal’s health to aware
people. So that user can search the required information about the animal health.

1.2 Purpose

 The website will contain information about the Animals

 Providing the important information of disease.
 Decision Making Tool: Today’s complex business organizations require thousands of
information. Reports provide the required information a large number of important
decisions in business or any other area are taken on the basis of information presented in
the reports. This is one of the great importance of report.
 Investigation: Whenever there is any problem, a committee or commission or study group
investigates the problem to find out the reason behind the problem and present the
findings with or without the recommendation in the form of a report. It is another
importance of report.
 Evaluation: Large scale organizations are engaged in multidimensional activities. It is not
possible for a single top executive to keep personal watch on what others are doing. So,
the executive depends on reports to evaluate the performance of various departments or
units.

CHAPTER NO 2

DESIGN AND METHODOLOGY

The “visual” part refers to the method used to create the graphical user interface (GUI).
Rather than writing numerous lines of code to describe the appearance and location of
interface elements, you simply drag and drop pre-built objects into place on screen. If
you’ve ever used a drawing program such as paint, you already have most of the skills
necessary to create an effective user interface. It revolves around ready-made objects and
it is event-driven that is all the activities in a program are triggered by one event or
another. Each object has its own properties, determining its position, size, color,

UAF SUB CAMPUS T. T SINGH Page 12

ANIMAL HEALTH CLINIC

appearance and nature of its text and much more. Each object also has its own event-
handling procedures. Visual basic knows what a button is and how it works? It also
works how to handle images, menus, dialog boxes, drive and directory list and much else.
The programmer does not have to write code to trap these events the system does that
automatically because the program code runs in response to events. The flow of
execution is not as fixed in a traditional program. Operations do not have to follow a set
of sequence and can be easily interrupted, suspended or abandoned. The process of
program design reflects the nature of the system. You begin by the screen layout events
and then any necessary code to co-ordinate the whole program.

2.2Sequence diagrams
A sequence diagram shows object interactions arranged in time sequence. It depicts the objects
and classes involved in the scenario and the sequence of messages exchanged between the
objects needed to carry out the functionality of the scenario.

2.3 Iterative:
Iterative development is a way of breaking down the software development of a large application
into smaller chunks. In iterative development, feature code is designed, developed and tested in
repeated cycles.

2.3.1 When we use Iterative model?

 This model is used only when the requirements are very well known, clear and fixed.
 Product definition is stable.
 Technology is understood.
 There are no ambiguous requirements
 Ample resources with required expertise are available freely

UAF SUB CAMPUS T. T SINGH Page 17

ANIMAL HEALTH CLINIC

2.3.2 What is the Iterative Methodology?

Much like construction and manufacturing workflows, Iterative methodology is a sequential
design process. This means that as each of the eight stages (conception, initiation, analysis,
design, construction, testing, implementation, and maintenance) are completed, the developers
move on to the next step.

As this process is sequential, once a step has been completed, developers can’t go back to a
previous step – not without scratching the whole project and starting from the beginning. There’s
no room for change or error, so a project outcome and an extensive plan must be set in the
beginning and then followed carefully.

2.3.3 Advantages of the Iterative Methodology

1. The Iterative methodology stresses meticulous record keeping. Having such records allows for
the ability to improve upon the existing program in the future.

2. With the Iterative methodology, the client knows what to expect. They’ll have an idea of the
size, cost, and timeline for the project. They’ll have a definite idea of what their program will do
in the end.

3. In the case of employee turnover, iterative strong documentation allows for minimal project
impact.

2.3.4 Disadvantages of the iterative Methodology

1. Once a step has been completed, developers can’t go back to a previous stage and make
changes.

2. Iterative methodology relies heavily on initial requirements. However, if these requirements

are faulty in any manner, the project is doomed.

3. If a requirement error is found, or a change needs to be made, the project has to start from the
beginning with all new code.

User Manual

Web Based System [Animal Health Clinic] come in a wide variety and can be found all over
the Internet. A website that contains more than one type of media is considered to be multimedia.
Typically, these sites use multiple applications such as these to convey certain information to the
viewer of the web page. Manufacturers might use photos and PDF based user's manuals to
transfer key points of interest about their products to the viewers. In other cases, multimedia can
be used as a teaching tool where visitors learn through instructional videos or a news site might
use podcasts and television footage to update their readers through their websites. The local
assessments of drug quality mirrored levels of recovery , indicating the critical importance of
drug quality for effective treatment outcomes. Ethiopian private pharmacies scored well in this
area, though itinerant drug traders did not. There was a notable distrust of private pharmacies.
Poor recovery levels can be due to misdiagnosis and/or mistreatment (use of the wrong drug; low
dosages, incorrect administration, etc.) or substandard or fake drugs. The evaluators were unable
to check all these parameters. This system is very helpful to provide correct information.

DFD FLOW DIAGRAMS

The data flow diagrams are pictorial or graphical representation of the outline of the system
study. The data flow diagram covers all the processes and data storage area, which takes place
during any transaction in the system. The data flow diagrams are functionally divided into
context level, Zero level, and First level and Second level data flow diagrams.

And here in this diagram the data is flowing between Government and funding agency to process
or manage the hostel activity in graphical representation way. Furthermore A data flow
diagram (DFD) is a graphical representation of the "flow" of data through an information system,

UAF SUB CAMPUS T. T SINGH Page 29

Modeling its process aspects. A DFD is often used as a preliminary step to create an overview of the
system without going into great detail, which can later be elaborated.

Conclusion

To conclude the description about the project the project developed using XAMMP for inform
people about health of animal. This software is very useful for all diseas’s information of all
type of animal are available on that software.

A modern veterinary service requires effective systems for gathering relevant information from
the field, processing it in ways which provide maximum value, and presenting it in a form
which is easy for field staff to use in implementing appropriate actions to achieve effective
disease control.
