Evidence:
 Facts and Statistics. Numbers, research, scientists,.
Persuasive because author isn’t making things up. He is
armed with the facts. He has data.research to back his
claim up.
 Anecdotes: Short story of real person or event.
Persuasive because reader tends to putmore faith in
experinces if they can personally connect with the
experiences. More likely to agree because reader empathy
activated
Reasoning:
 Counterargument,Counterclaim: Another point of view
Shows that author understands the topic well. Boosts his
credibility.
Stylistic/Persuasive Elements:
 Vivid Language: similies, meetaphors, exotic words
Persuasive because: Puts reader in author’s shoes, draws
them into the passage. Makes it interesting, engaging them
further. Increases impact of sentence claim on reader.
 Direct Address and Appeals to Reader: Phrases specifically
designed to invoke an emotional response in the reader
Persuasive because it causes readers to emotionally agree
with author. Engages with the reader on a deeper level.
