1 RESEARCH METHOD LIST

The proponent frameworks the methods, procedures and organizational course of

actions which will be discussed and elaborated by the proponent that will be used in

doing the whole research.

Covering this section include the explanation of the system of the research or data

collecting procedures, the type of research method used, the study paradigm, the study

devices and the additional means of data and documentaries. For the readers of this

project to identify the chronological order of the overall study process, the following text

below will help.

1. Recognition

The idea of SEA-NEXUS: Marine Complex derived into view offering the users a

chance to experience undersea life where they can experience fun and enjoyment as well

as awareness on the rich abundant marine life the Philippines can offer.

Also the project came forth from the recent broadcasts about the marine

conservation initiatives of the government for a greater and nature responsible country.

2. Delineation

Having a broad knowledge in architecture, the proponent focuses on the

architectural aspect of the development. Solving the problems as well as innovating

sustainable and responsive approach by means of architecture.

Also, the proponent recommends a proposed structure complying with the

standards promulgated by the governing lawmakers. This will create a feasible

development that will be a reference of future developments of same type of structure.

3. Preparation

Collecting data concerning the situations of the environment of the site,

climatic data, city profile, demography and population, projected users, building

systems and concepts applied for the project to be analyzed thoroughly.

a. Data Survey

 Self-Assessment – the evaluation of one’s knowledge and ideas

about the creation and initial development of Marine Complex.

 Library Research – library information are reliable and the most

acknowledged data resource.

 Web Research – internet resources have an immense and

comprehensive collection of information. Almost all data can be

viewed in the internet making it the most accessible resource

method.

 Digital Sources and Materials – efficient means of readily available

reading materials such as soft copies, digital files, PDFs, e-books, etc.

 Walk-In Surveys – the proponent seeks first-hand information from

the authorities. It contains interviews, conversations as wells as

asking to acquire necessary information.

The proponent gather data from interviews and meetings of resource persons and

department heads of the offices mentioned. This will help the proponent to gain

comprehension and knowledge about the perceived scope and extent of the thesis.

4. Analysis

a. Information Analysis and Evaluation

- The proponent thoroughly analyzes the data acquired from the

different sources.

b. Feasibility Study

 Target Users – will be presented by the study based from the report

from Department of Tourism (Tourism Development Planning

Digest of Puerto Princesa) as well as the report from Puerto Princesa

(Demography of Puerto Princesa)

 Design Programming – comprises of proposed Marine Complex, its

uses, spaces, users, as well as building systems incorporated. It also

contains the architectural design style principle employed by the

proponent.

 Financial Factor- the proponent enumerate the possible financer of

the development, its budget, and the probable cost and return of

investment

5. Synthesis

The devising of resolution and strategies to be incorporated through proper

architectural and spatial programming of the Education Tourism and Marine Research

Facility, it also includes the formulation of concepts to be incorporated in the

development to make it possible.

 Formulation of Design Solution and Strategies

 Settlement of Design Concept and Guiding Principles

 Presentation of Initial Design Scheme

6. Execution

The proponent gives rendition of enumerated concepts and environmental

systems and translate it into technical drawings, architectural renderings, developmental

plans based from the information collected and the inclusion of the styles, approaches,

and theories adopted of the study prepare.

7. Re-Evaluation

Revision of the development from the series of consultation made by the

proponent to the people with enough knowledge in the development as well as academes

in architecture.

The amendments are accepted to the overall presentation as an admiration to the

will to improve the wellness and efficiency of the Marine Complex.

8. Final Design Output

The concluding development scheme of SEA-NEXUS: Marine Complex will reflect

the studies made from the seven steps aforementioned above. The proposal of

Educational Tourism and Marine Research Facility will be nature-responsive,

sustainable, functional, as well as demonstrate the character of the locality.
