Career History and Highlights

Executive VP of Engineering
KM Management Solutions
2006 to Present
Provider of independent consultants and strategic partners to identify emerging trends, technologies and
capabilities to best perform for customers.
Launched and led engineering development company focused on the design and delivery of cutting-edge
engineering solutions to telecommunications equipment providers. Currently completing the sale of assets.
 Developed patented matrix architecture and software algorithm. Challenged with multi-billion dollar
automated distribution frame market that was too big, too slow, cost prohibitive, and an ROI that was too
far out. Developed a product with less components meeting both size and cost constraints. Only product in
the world to obtain industry certification and pass Verizon compliance testing.
 Exceeded expectations of time to certify vendor equipment. Bell South requested a unit with a budget
deadline of five months. Created rapid deployment team to complete customer requirements and design
integrity. Reduced time to less than three months meeting the deadline and ensuring internal budget
goals.

 Achieved best practices for cost modeling. Tasked with reducing time to introduce new products and
lower unit costs. Introduced new cost modeling and concurrent engineering techniques into the product
development cycle. Increased profit margins by an average of 15%, and reduced development time by
22%.
 Increased performance, engaging the client in participation. Confronted with maintaining feature
development schedule through misinterpretation of customer requirements, leading to excessive costs.
Re-organized software development to maximize Agile principles and developed Scrum approach to
integrate customer. Increased release schedule performance 40% and reduced corrective action 60%.
 Reduced product costs and increased on-time performance. Increased customer value by increasing ROI
through optimization of the engineering processes and procedures. Modified engineering to align with a
development team approach. Product development times and associated costs were reduced an average
of 22% and on-time performance increased by 17%.

VP of Engineering
Digital Life Networks
2003 to 2006
Provided comprehensive technical oversight identifying emerging trends in telecommunication service provider
offerings.
Led full lifecycle of products and provided the technical guidance to allow the company to exploit current products
into new markets. Held budget responsibility of $10M and managed 21 professional staff. Spun off engineering
organization into a new entity led by KM Management.

 Implemented disruptive technology to increase sales and cash flow. FCC legislation for incentives for
rural local exchange carriers to offer enhanced services opened a potential $500M market to switch
vendors. Developed a new product allowing for local carriers to introduce new service offering, and cut
equipment ROI 30%. Increased sales from licenses by 27% in less than one year.
 Lowered material costs and increased profit margins. Digital Signal Processors (DSP’s) and FPGA’s provide
an opportunity to increase product profit margin by lowering material unit costs. Re-designed numerous
products replacing hardware components with both DSP’s and FPGA’s and associated firmware. Increased
profit margins an average of 20 to 30% with the reduction of material and manufacturing costs.

VP of Business Development
Garuda Networks
2001 to 2003
Established key customer relationships while guiding the technical development of telecommunication products.
Developed strategies to gain market share and enhance company reputation while advising engineering of
trending technologies. Led a staff of five professionals. Opportunity to lead startup.

 Recruited to obtain references for new product. Telecom service providers require potential vendors to
have equipment installed and operating in a similar environment as a reference point. Researched service
providers and identified those that would benefit from equipment features, directing engineering to
integrate new features as a differentiator. Obtained agreement from four service providers within two
months. Accelerated revenue by six months with multiple reference installations.
