Lesson Objective:
 Students will be able to discuss the applications of Fantasy YA Literature in their education and its
importance.
 This means, that I am able to determine how YA literature can and should be applied to my learning.

Language Objective:
 The writing prompt will be written on the board and read aloud to the class.

Standard(s):
 12.2.2.a. Determine an author’s point of view or purpose in a tech which the rhetoric is
particularly effective, analyzing how style and content contribute to the power,
persuasiveness, or beauty of the text.

Assessment:
 The assessment for this lesson lies directly in the observational aspects of the discussion.
The students are graded on their participation, the content of what is shared, and how
well they are able to continue, or lead the discussion.

Differentiation:
 As this is a very discussion heavy conversation, students who have difficulty with verbal
participation may use writing as a tool to participate and turn in their notes. They may
also use their annotated article as a reference to help organize their ideas.
