BSC6000 Commissioning Procedure

Start working with the crass checking of the power, cables.

1. Check the input power of the main Rack with the power matter. The power should be (-48 to -58).
2. Check the input power of each sub rack with the power matter the power range = (-48 to -58).
3. Check the inter sub rack cable connection. Check the GTNU inter sub rack cable connection and
cable connection from main rack to extension rack.
Note: the cable from GTNU are connect directly to other GTNUs eg: ( sub rack 0 slot 4,5 of port 0 , 1
connect to the sub rack 1 slot 4,5 of port 0,1). Then from sub rack 0 slot 4,5 of port 2,3 connect to the
sub rack 3 slot 4,5 of port 0,1) then from sub rack 1 slot 4,5 of slot 4,5 connect to the sub rack 3 slot
4,5 of port 2,3)

4. Checking the GSCU inter sub rack connection and from main rack to the extension rack.
Note: The cable connections of the GSCU are connected as follow.
The sub rack 0 slot 6, 7 of port 0, 0 connect to the sub rack 1 slot 6, 7 of port 0, 0 and the port 1,
1 of sub rack 0 slot 6, 7 are connect crass it mean the sub rack 0’s slot 6 of port 1 is connect to sub
rack 1 slot 7 of port 1 and the sub rack 0 slot 7 port 1 is connect to the sub rack 1 of slot 6 port 1
The sub rack 0 slot 6, 7 of port 2, 2 connect to the sub rack 3 slot 6, 7 of port 2, 2 and the port 3, 3 of
sub rack 0 slot 6, 7 are connect crass it mean the sub rack 0’s slot 6 of port 3 is connect to sub rack 3
slot 7 of port 3 and the sub rack 0 slot 7 port 1 is connect to the sub rack 3 of slot 6 port 3

5. Checking the clock cable connection the clock cable is “Y” and the connection is as follow.
The sub rack 0, slot 12, 13 ports 0,0, 1,1 is connected to the sub rack 1 slot 6,7 clock port.
6. Checking the GBAM cable connection to KVM.
7. Checking the DIP switches of the GEIUs of that is on make all off.
8. checking the DIP switches of the each shelves.

The above procedure was about crass checking of the cables.


Start configuration work: switch on the BR according to the label on the left site of the BR in order to
power on the rack

9. First on the GBAM to configure the external IP address for the particular port log in to the BAM
and configure the IP, sub net mask, get way.
10. after configuring the IP connect you portable computer to the switch and give the same network IP
+ 1 try to ping if reach the BAM it mean the communication is ok after you got the communication
ok copy the soft ware to the BAM’s BSC6000/install, folder, you need to copy the OMU,
boardfile, netcfg files

11. after files copied successfully the try to enter in side the BSC6000/install folder then install the
OMU file as follow: linux:/BSC6000/install# rpm -ivh file OMU file name enter
12. Then give the external IP address by using this commend linux:/BSC6000/install# ./netcfg then
the following massage will be appear and type yes and give the external IP address of the BAM as
follow

13. Then for the bind the internal IP address Run the ./netcfg –bond
The following messages are displayed. Then type yes

And type the external IP once more and after as follow at the end when it ask for Yes/No type Yes

14. after the OMU and binding done check the status of the OMUCTRL status if it is working
normally.
15. Try to connect from you portable computer to open the LMT soft ware and do the configuration as
follow.
