MULTI-MODE MANUAL TRANSMISSION SYSTEM


JDESCRIPTION
D The M-MT (Multi-mode Manual Transmission) system consists of two types of shift modes: the E-mode
that shifts automatically to suit the driving conditions and the M-mode that allows the driver to manually
operate the shift lever to shift gears without applying the clutch. As a result, good fuel efficiency and ease
of driving (in the E-mode) and a sporty drive (in the M-mode) have been realized.
D The M-MT system mainly consists of C551A manual transmission, LCC (Load Controlled Clutch Cover)
mechanism, M-MT ECU, various sensors, and switches.
D The basic constructions and main operations of the M-MT system for the new Aygo are same as those on
the Corolla Verso (Pub. No. NCF263E).
