1. Cause : electricity

Effect : chemical reactions

Electric energy is one form of energy is most needed, both for the present and the future,
electricity can not be separated from our lives. Even the development of science and technology
today can not be separated from the role of electricity itself although various attempts were made
to find a replacement for the electric energy, such as solar energy, and so on. One branch of
chemistry that studies and research on the use of the conversion of chemical energy to electrical
energy or vice versa is electrochemistry. In electrochemical cell, electrochemical process take
place, which is a chemical reaction produce an electricity or electricity causes the course of
chemical reactions. Therefore, the electrochemical cell can be used in everyday life (not only for
metal plating and batteries), for example metal refining of gold and copper, the use of diaphragm
cells, and accu.

2. Cause : vitamin C

Effect : Scurvy

Vitamin C is one type of water soluble vitamins and has an important role in warding off
many diseases. This vitamin is also known by the chemical name that is ascorbic acid. Vitamin C
is group of vitamin which include the antioxidant that can ward free radicals extracellular. On the
other hand, vitamin C promotes healthy teeth and gums and the helps in the absorption of iron
and the maintenance of connective tissue and wound healing. It may also block the formation of
cancer causing nitrosamines. The fact that a lack of vitamin C causes scurvy, bleeding gums,
degenerating muscles, wounds that won’t heal, loose teeth, brown, dry, and rough skin, loss of
appetite, irritability and weight loss.

3. Cause : vitamin C

Effect : Deterioration of foodstuffs

Vitamin C or simply ascorbate (the anion of ascorbic acid), is an essential nutrient for
humans and certain other animal species. Vitamin C is group of vitamin which including the
antioxidant that can ward free radicals extracellular. Therefore, vitamin C is the least stable of all
the vitamins. While it is relatively stable in air as a solid, it rapidly decomposes in solution. This
ease of oxidation in air makes ascorbic acid a useful preserving agent because it slows down the
normal deterioration of foodstuffs that resulted from exposure to oxygen. It would clearly be
impractical to process and package all foodstuffs in an oxygen free environment.

4. Cause : Swimming Pool

Effect : Health risks

Swimming is a highly practiced sport. There is no question that many positive aspects are
associated to swimming in pools, including those from physical activity, back pain relief, and
wellbeing from leisure and recreation. In contrast, the World Health Organization identifies 3
hazards in swimming pools: injury or drowning, microbial hazards and chemical hazards.
Swimming in a pool containing chlorine not only increase the risk of asthma and allergies. More
recently, researchers found a pool of water containing chlorine can also cause tooth decay. The
use of disinfectants such as chlorine can be used to turn off a variety of bacterial pathogens in the
water. But if the compound is mixed with other organic materials such as urine and sweat, the
chlorine can release a product mix that can irritate the eyes, skin, airways and in the long term
can lead to cancer. Consequently, eventual positive health effects gained by swimming can be
increased by reducing the potential adverse health risks. By reducing the organic material is
brought to the pool by way of rinsing the body first before getting into the pool and not urinating
in the pool.

5. Cause : Chemical Analysis

Effect : Forensic Chemistry

Chemical analysis is the branch of chemistry that deals with the identification of elements
or grouping of elements present in a sample. Chemical analysis is needed in everyday life.
Chemical analysis is also widely used for solving problems, for example in forensic chemistry
and blood tests and as a diagnostic and preventive tool as in random breath testing. The different
types of chemical analysis carried out each day are too numerous to list, but the general
principles and procedures are well worth investigation. On the other hand, chemical analysis is
more important processes to society than solving crimes, both to protect the public from
criminals and to protect the innocent from unjust punishment.
