What do you want to
accomplish in terms of
developing your professional
knowledge, practices, or
engagement?
During this placement I am
hope to gain better
knowledge of the older year
levels. Having little
experience teaching /
observing the year 5 level,
this placement will be a
great opportunity to develop
my knowledge and
understanding of their
curriculum.
I hope to accomplish a better
use of time management
within the classroom, I have
previously needed to think
on the spot for extra
activities, as I have not
allowed for the correct
amount of time provided for
the lesson being taught.

What evidence will you collect
and analyse?
I will have gathered evidence
through correcting work and
observation. I will work
closely with my supervising
teacher to help me better
understand the outcomes
and development before the
transition to high school.
I will base my achievement
off the feedback received by
my supervising teacher. I will
also ensure to keep a close
watch of the time , giving
students more time to work
individually/collaboratively if
necessary or allow for a
longer sharing period at the
end of the lesson.

to attain your goal?
I will continue to question
and receive feedback on my
teacher approaches during
this placement. I will take on
criticism provided, helping
develop my professional
knowledge.
I will continue to ‘over plan’
for all lessons, ensuring I
have extra ‘early finisher’
work and activities ready.

Why is this goal important for
your career as a teacher?
This goal is important to me
as I believe having a clear
understanding of how each
year level develops and
grows throughout the school
year is crucial.
This goal is important to me
as throughout lesson
planning, it has come to my
attention that ‘over-
planning’ is much more
effective than ‘under-
planning.’ Doing this I am
able to carry the lesson on
for the next session.

When will you achieve this goal
during this placement?
I hope to have a greater
knowledge of the higher year
levels, I will not be able to
completely achieve this goal,
as after this placement I will
continue to broaden my
knowledge, not only the
older year levels but also the
middle and lower years.
I hope to have this goal
under control by the time I
begin full control days (week
3 and 4), the two weeks prior
I will be able to observe how
my supervising teacher
managers their time within
the classroom.
