 History of ECCC Concept

•• Late 1990’’s –– Deputy Modisette & the PISD

School Board began discussing the idea of
an employee child care center
•• The ECCC was developed to help retain &
attract quality teachers to Plano ISD
 Goals of the ECCC

•• To have several centers across the district

•• To continue to seek opportunities to create
centers when space presents itself

 Enrollment for ECCC

•• Opened the doors on August 8, 2008 with

72 children
•• First year enrollment totaled 92 children
•• 105 children are currently enrolled

•• Serves children of employees

from 49 Plano ISD campuses
•• 95 children are on the wait
list
•• Serves children from 6 weeks
of age to kindergarten age
•• Is licensed through the
Texas Department of Family
& Protective Services
East Plano Location for Second ECCC

•• The Employee Child Care is projected to be

located in east Plano at:

•• Projected opening date is 2012-2013

•• 76 children are projected to be enrolled

•• 48 parents currently have children enrolled at the
Central ECCC center and work in the east cluster
•• 26 parents currently on the wait list work in the
east cluster
•• Will gain fiscal efficiencies by running 2 sites
•• Geographically a good location
