BRIEF HISTORY:

The founding father of BAJAJ GROUP was MR JAMNALAL BAJAJ, adopted 5 th son of Mahatma Gandhi. He
is also known as the “merchant prince” as he held the wealth in the trust of people. He had the policy
of honesty over profit. After him, his elder son Kamalnayan Bajaj took over and followed the footsteps of
his father. Kamalnayan Bajaj was known for his foresighting and dynamic vision. He improvised the work
culture that matched with the national spirit he had inherited.
After Kamalnayan Bajaj, Ramkrishna Bajaj took over in 1972 and managed the group for over 22 years.
He was proactive member of youth movement in post independent India. He created the foundation of
business through ethics and best practices.
Currently, Mr. Shekhar Bajaj is the Chairman and Managing Director of Bajaj Electrical Ltd. He became
the Managing Director in 1987 and became both Chairman and Managing Director in 1994.
