RHETORICAL ANALYSIS

Abstract

A Rhetorical Analyze, it’s a story or advertise that’s wants give out a message and wants

to persuade the audience of doing what the message is trying to say. It gives out the message by

using the ethos, pathos, and logos. In this case I will be briefly explaining about a Commercial

that is persuading Mexican residents to go vote for the 2018 election. The well-known

commercial name “movimiento naranja” in which it’s an eight-year-old kid that sings and which

the lyrics is motivating everyone to go vote for a better future. The video has a lot of messages in

which why you should vote for it and who to vote for and what positive effect Mexico City it’s

going to have.

RHETORICAL ANALYSIS

Introduction

Rhetoric is most likely to be use to persuade someone by giving a message. Rhetoric

messages or situations are usually in everyday life. With so much technology now, a lot

advertising and commercials are being used more. their way to persuade in the audience

commercial kind of advertising is by adding the persuade the audience in the way of using, ethos

which being the credibility of a persuader , pathos the emotions towards the story , and logos the

logic of what they use in the story to be able to persuade , the rhetorical situation that I choose

was the commercial from Mexico persuading people to vote for the elections in 2018 called the

citizen movement, the national action party, this party is the most similar to democracy. Avery

popular commercial that went viral in just a few months of being on live T.V.The video that has

been viewed more than a million times is well known, because of an 8 years old boy named

Yauwi Jose de Jesus Lopez Carillo who is singing the now theme song of a Mexican political

party called “ Movimiento Naranja” which translates to orange movement. After the commercial

was aired in Mexican television, social media did a fast job in promoting the song by recognizing

the culture and heritage the little boy singing was representing.

Pathos

The creator of this commercial made a good job by persuading many people by making

them wanting to go vote and to know more about the meaning for the commercial and cultural

meanings. Many people now this days don’t vote reason being because they think all the voting

it’s a fraud and the presidential candidates are paying to be able to win and are being threating

people to vote for them. One of the lyrics in which the song is saying that if they vote for the

political campaign its going to be a positive outcome since its saying “the future is on your

hands”. So, it makes people, residents from Mexico to think before voting but at the same time

residents are worried toward what their future country is going to be like and who is going to be

the leader and the responsible for Mexico.

Ethos

In the commercial it tries to convince and persuade people to go vote for that political

party, for a better future. Bigger opportunities for them and many others, as in the video Carrillo

the eight-year-old kid is from a small town from Jalisco name (Huichol). A small town where

there’s a lot of plantation of plants. So as his way of growing up which is with a lot of farming

and having certain thing limited made people think that just as his way of growing is not having

a lot of expenses well just like this campaign can help him and his family have a better life so as

the residents in Mexico can too.

Logos

The creator of this video, I’m sure didn’t have an idea his commercial was going to go

viral just in a few months but was hoping for people to go out a vote. Using the music and eight-

year-old kid might be a way to grabbed their attention. They tried to grab your attention by

saying “ the future is on your hands” and as well demonstrating hope and help if you will it’s on

its way for Mexico’s future, with this particular political party.

Conclusion
In conclusion, the message the way the commercial is trying to give out to persuade many

people to vote is very clear. The fact in which the commercial is not the same as others, this

commercial is very different they had a mixed of examples by using a song and a little boy that is

from a small town dressed really different from others, but that’s how his culture is dressed, it

teaches many and a lot about culture. It gives out a message about being sure who to vote for the

upcoming 2018 voting elections because just like the songs says “ the future is on our hands”.
