DC electric circuit theory – Alejandro Sánchez Salcedo
Michael Faraday
(1791–1867)
English chemist and physicist. His
discovery of electromagnetic induction
in 1831 was a major breakthrough in
engineering because it provided a way
of generating electricity. The electric
motor and generator operate on this
principle. The unit of capacitance, the
farad, was named in his honor.
(2)Voltage is conservative
Therefore:
1 1 1 1 1
= + + + ⋯+
𝐶𝐸𝑞 𝐶1 𝐶2 𝐶3 𝐶𝑛
Therefore:
𝐶𝐸𝑞 = 𝐶1 + 𝐶2 + 𝐶3 + ⋯ + 𝐶𝑁
(2)Inductance is linear
From KVL:
𝑣1 + 𝑣2 + 𝑣3 + ⋯ + 𝑣𝑛 = 𝑣𝑇
Therefore:
𝐿𝐸𝑞 = 𝐿1 + 𝐿2 + 𝐿3 + ⋯ + 𝐿𝑁
From KCL:
𝑖1 + 𝑖2 + 𝑖3 + ⋯ + 𝑖𝑛 = 𝑖 𝑇
Therefore:
1 1 1 1 1
= + + + ⋯+
𝐿𝐸𝑞 𝐿1 𝐿2 𝐿3 𝐿𝑛
