Ali. I have taught in different private and government schools
but now here I am with your child. I am from the United Arab
Emirates. I am looking forward to work with you and teach
your children.

Teaching Philosophy

As a teacher I believe that learning through play is important because


it helps in developing student’s language, listening and speaking skills.
This includes talking with other friends while playing or even with
themselves when they are playing alone. Moreover play develops
your child’s cognitive development, the capability
of problem solving, social skills and also
school related subjects because of how play
involve many areas of the brain
(Thibodeau, 2018).

I believe also that there should be parental and community involvement
in education. It can be represented with activities that would engage all
the parties. These involvements would support the learning of the
students. It also affects student’s behaviors positively. Students become
more likely to adapt well to schools and attend regularly. Children also
have better social behaviors and higher self-esteem, also positive
relationships with their parents ("Why Family and

Community Involvement Is Important", n.d.).

NOTE: There are some events that are included

at the end of this document.


Expectations

As a parent I expect from you

- Encourage your child at home to study and finish school work.


- Provide clear feedback and communicate with me whenever is
needed.
- Provide a safe home environment that helps
children study and learn and have rest.
- Encourage your child to go to school and
have a positive attitude about school.
- Work with school staff and teachers to
provide support for your child and volunteer
in different events.
I expect also from your child:
-Attend regularly and work on tasks on time.
-Be prepared for school
-Work hard and do his best while working on tasks.
-Have positive relationships with teachers and students,
respect and cooperate with them.
-Follow school and classroom rules and
regulations.
-Have good eating habits, dress well and stay
tidy during the school day.
Classroom
Management

For managing my classroom, I always remind the students: Raise


your hand if you need to say anything and don’t talk when
someone else is talking. I listen to all of my students and answer
their questionings. Positive reinforcement is the main thing that I
use also for my students whether it
would be with positive feedback
verbally or with giving them stickers
and stars which is the thing they like
the most.
Working Classroom
Environment

My working classroom environment is very active. We start with the circle


time which we begin with a general question that all students would
answer so I would understand how they are feeling and to generate an
interest and then we move into our lesson. Children express their ideas
but with making sure the classroom would stay disciplined. After moving
to working activities stations. Children are just required to keep the
classroom clean, disciplined and finish their work.
I let the students work in the way they like and
they can discuss with each other. I like to use more
hands-on activities so students would develop their
fine motor skills and also gain the knowledge they
need while having fun.
Assessment strategies

I use two assessment strategies with my students which are

 Formative Assessment
 Summative Assessment
During formative assessment I check whether students understood the
concept that I am teaching so I know if I need to work more on the
concept or if I can move into a new concept ("Formative vs Summative
Assessment", 2018).
I use different formative assessment strategies:
1-Happy and sad face: each student have a sign that has a
happy face and a sad face on the opposite side. If students
are struggling and needing help they raise the sad face so I
or a peer would help them. If they raise the happy face, it
means they are done I go and check their answers.
2- Talk to each other strategy: I would tell the students that they can
discuss with their friends. Students talk and discuss while working on an
activity. While they are talking this I move around and listen and observe
the students and I would take some notes of how they are doing and
what they are saying.
3- Doodle it: Students like this strategy the most. I ask
the students to draw something that they liked or
something that is related to what have we learned.
When student finish drawing I would ask also some
questions to know what students learned.
4- Listening and asking questions: I listen to the students and what they
say while working, they would ask me some questions and I would ask
them some questions. These answers would clarify to me how much the
student understand.
Summative assessment:
I use the summative assessment to evaluate their learning at the end of a
unit. It helps me in writing the evaluations I send to you about your children
("What is Summative Assessment?", n.d.)
1- Depending on a worksheet or a task that I give for them, I write
notes and I go through the learning outcomes of each lesson to
know which one this child mastered, which ones do he need to work
on and which one he is weak at.
2- Asking questions and then going through
the criteria guide that I have to mark
whether they master this goal or not. This
strategy that I use to assess them verbally.
Take note: While assessing your child I
always praise him because I never want to
lower my students’ self-esteem.

parents

How to communicate with me?

1- What’s app: Feel free to contact me through my

2- Phone calls: I am available on weekdays from Sunday to
Tuesday from 4-6 and on Wednesday and Thursday from 6-
8.
3- Class Dojo: Track your child’s progress by the photos I post
and the point he gain in the class and if you have any
concerns you can note them down for me.
Parental
Involvement

-We have different activities and events that you as a parent can be
involved in, I will include the calendar at the end of this flipbook and you
can see which event would suit you to volunteer in or to attend. I would
send you a reminder before the events but if you have any idea to make
the events more enjoyable for the students contact me.

-We would also would have teacher-parent meeting outside the school if
you are interested, I will be sending everyone a request before arranging
for the meeting.
Support your
Child

Suggestions for parents to support their child’s educational experience


at home

1- Always check the weekly plan, it includes


everything that your child is studying so
you can revise with him.
2- Check the school website and class dojo:
I always include links and websites and
pictures of different activities that you
can do with your child at home to help
him learn better.
3- Always check the notes I send with your
child and if you need anything contact
me, these notes are very important
because they are about your child.
