Receiving Feedback - Reflection

Recently, I had a teaching practice for three weeks and it was great chance for me to
apply what I learnt during this semester. On Thursday, 20-3-2018, I had to give a lesson for
the students in presence my MCT to evaluate me. It was an English class and a new lesson
entitled "Symmetrical and Non Symmetrical" .In fact I collected all information for the lesson
from internet and the main resources used computer , projector, and worksheets .

Immediately, I had a feedback session with my MCT after the lesson where we
discussed my strengths and weakness. First, she highlighted my strength where I used
Picture Ordering activity on the white board to review the lesson with the students. As well
as, she like the Matching shape activity what I used during my class. On other hand, she
asked me to be careful with my language when I teach the children. As well as, a student
didn't give a right answer, I asked her to sit down and then I asked another student to give
answer. The MCT didn't like this way and she told me it will be better if I asked student (who
gave wrong answer) to choose another student to answer, so it won't hurt her. Also, she
advise me to remember students' names, so they will feel respected and be happy. The most
important point was language weakness, I agree with this point where I have to worker
harder to improve my English language. As well as, the way I used to deal with the student
who didn't give the right answer was wrong and it can make him/her disappointed. As
Future teacher I should be very careful because any word I said or an action I do might affect
the students' performance.

As Freud believed the idea of using feedback builds on the idea that other people,
because they have different perspectives, can help us to gather information that would be
difficult to obtain if we worked alone. More over Feedback and reflection are two basic
teaching methods to be a successful teacher and able to overcome difficulties, you must
have a feedback.

Finally, I want to say that the most beautiful thing in the feedback is that you know
your mistakes in order to correct them and not to repeat them. The excellent teacher may
not be excellent if he does not get a feedback. I took all feedbacks which given to me into
consideration regardless of who give me the feedback because it to help me to improve
myself and become a better person in the future.
