Countries that applies death penalty world wide

In the world history, the use of capital punishment has been in use in almost corner of the

world. However, majority of the countries of the world have abolished the practice of executing

people.

Industrialized world

These are the countries that are considered western society. They are relatively wealthy

well educated and stable. In the industrialized world, five countries continue to perform the act

of capital punishment. The countries are japan, Singapore, St. Kitts and Nevis, Taiwan and the

United States of America. The European nations have a strong opposition against the death

penalty. In the Europe countries, Belarus is the only country that continue to execute people.

Former Soviet Republics

In the former soviet publics, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Belarus have death penalties.

But they are only used for special circumstances for example wars committed in wartime.

Asia

Asia countries commonly practice these acts of executing people and china being on the

lead of the countries that use death penalty. North Korea uses the death penalty often. The

execution is very high in countries having Islam culture in large numbers. The executions are

usually high. The few industrialized democracies includes the countries such as Singapore,

Japan, Taiwan and South Korea.

In Africa

The countries that use death penalty are the chief Islamic countries. Non Islamic

countries that still uses the death penalty includes Equatorial Guinea and Botswana. Chad is the

only country which appealed for the human execution and applies it for terrorism.

Central and south America

The death penalty still exist in Guatemala, Guyana, Belize and Caribbean countries.

How death penalty is being executed.

In the Indiana state, the death penalty is through hanging. Thereafter from 1913 through

the year 1994, the execution is through electric chair. The following year from 1995, the

execution was through lethal injection. The current execution code is found at Indiana code 35-

38-6. The requirements is that there should be a lethal injection which should take place inside

the walls of the state prison particularly Michigan City before the sun rises

The execution procedures

The punishment shall be inflicted through intravenous injection of lethal substances to the

convict.

In a specific quantity that are possible to cause death to the convict and also until the

convicted person dies.

The penalty of death shall be administered before the sun rises on the specified dates

which is normally fixed by the court of sentence. The execution practice should never occur until

the last one hundred days after the execution.

The superintended also should designate the convict who is to serve as the executioner.

In the 36 states, the Federal Government and the US military which still have death

penalty statues prescribes five different execution methods; electrocution, lethal gas, hanging,

firing squad and lethal injection. The 16 jurisdiction provides alternative methods of execution

that is contingent upon the choice of the inmate. The death of the inmates, and the sentence or

the possibilities of the methods being held unconstitutional.

According to recent survey, the most leading criminology nations found out that majority

did not believe in death penalty as to be proven to be deterrent to homicide. The top eighty

percent of the criminology of the state doesn’t believe the act of death penalty as being deterrent

to homicide. This research is according to journal of criminal Law and Criminology authored by

Professor Michael Radalet who is the Chair of the Department of Sociology at the University of

Colorado-Boulder.
