Born on November four, one thousand nine hundred nine, in Huamachuco district.
He exposed the problems of the native peruvians while learning about their wahtsy
of life. This understanding was the focus of his novels.
He atended the university of Trujillo and worked as a journalist for the newpaper El
Norte.
His first novel was “The Golden Serpent” which is about the diverse human life that
is found along the Marañon river.
Then He published “The Hungry Dogs” that describes the difficulties faced by the
indian shepherds in the peruvian Highland.
His most popular novel is “Broad and Alien is the World”, represents the struggles
of an indian tribe to survive in the peruvian highlands against the greed of land-
hungry White men.
Died in Lima on the seventeenth of february one thousand nine hundred seventy-
seven.
Expuso los problemas de los peruanos nativos mientras aprendía acerca de su sentido de la vida.
Este entendimiento fue el foco de sus novelas.
Su primera novela fue "La Serpiente Dorada", que trata de la vida humana diversa que se
encuentra a lo largo del río Marañón.
Luego publicó " Los perros hambrientos " que describe las dificultades enfrentadas por los
pastores indios en el altiplano peruano.
Su novela más popular es "El mundo es ancho y ajeno", representa las luchas de una tribu india
para sobrevivir en las tierras altas del Perú contra la avaricia de los hombres blancos hambrientos
de tierra.
