To Whom It May Concern:

I am writing on behalf of Mr. Desmond Price, senior at Western High School. I have had the pleasure of
teaching Desmond in English 12 this year. Throughout our interactions together, Desmond has impressed me as
a young man of maturity and integrity. He is driven, a leader, and consistently strives for excellence in all he
pursues.

Desmond stands out in my mind for his maturity, integrity and leadership abilities. He is well liked among his
peers, but he is able to separate himself from the typical high school drama that seems to plague most others his
age. He walks that difficult line of fitting in but not being a follower. As a student athlete, he does well
balancing his schedule so that he can optimally perform both in the classroom and on the field. He consistently
maintains a positive attitude, and I can always count on him for his quiet leadership in and out of the classroom.
When Desmond speaks, people listen; people are naturally drawn to his mature, sage spirit.

Academically, Desmond strives for excellence in all of his assignments. His work is consistently done with
excellence. He works hard and is focused on doing well in all of his classes. He is proactive when he misses
class; he lets me know he will not be there and asks for any assignments he may miss. He impresses me as a
young man who wants to be successful in all aspects of his life.

Not only does Desmond demonstrate his work ethic in the classroom, but also in our school community.
Desmond’s determination for leading a school is impressive. As one of the Student Council Advisors, I had the
opportunity to work with Desmond as an elected member of the Homecoming Court. Desmond’s strength as a
leader, earned him the honor of being recognized by his peers as a young man who would represent his school
with pride. Desmond consistently strives to lead by positive example, and it does not go unnoticed.

It has been an honor to be a part of Desmond’s education. I am confident he will be met with success in
whatever future endeavors he chooses to pursue. Desmond’s natural leadership abilities, his maturity, and his
dedication to excellence are commendable. He will be an asset to any college student body.

Sincerely,

Jeanette Parker
