Dear Ms. Devereaux:

My name is Kyle Edward and I am writing in response to your posting for a Middle School
Language Arts Teacher. I learned about the opportunity through members of the Northwest
Community and the Northwest Community Schools website and, as a proud member of the
Northwest community, I am excited to apply for the opportunity to educate and build
relationships in the district in which I live.

I have recently completed my Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Secondary Education with an

English (BX) minor and a major in Social Studies (RX). I completed my student teaching in both
subject areas at Leslie High School during the 2017-2018 school year.

During my time student teaching at Leslie High School, I not only built positive relationships with
both my students and my peers, I also achieved personal growth as well. I was, and still am,
willing to learn new concepts and systems in order to achieve the growth that is desired in the
classroom. Building relationships, understanding the needs of the students, and growing both
personally and academically are values that I hold dear, and I know that Kidder Middle School
holds the same ideas in high regard.

I believe that my educational philosophy of building relationships, understanding, and growth

meets the needs of Northwest High School. I hope to meet soon to discuss how my passion can
