Activities 1. Tell the story to pupils.
2. Retell the story. Replace ‘Good morning’ with ‘Good
afternoon’ or ‘Good evening’.
3. Change the names of the characters to ‘Patty Parrot’ and
‘Timmy Tiger’.
4. Sing a song (Greeting Song). Include other greetings. Replace
all the names of the animal characters with the pupils’
names.

Activities 1. Sing together (Greeting song)
2. Games (Kangaroo Hop). In Kangaroo Hop, ask the pupils to
hop on each grapheme and say the phonemes /s/ / / and
/t/. Then they say the word ‘sat’ together. Replace ‘sat’ with
‘tap’ and ‘pat’.
3. Chant together. In the reading section, the pupils chant to the
teacher’s beat. Repeat the chant with other words that begin
with the phonemes /s/, / /, /t/ and /p/.
