To be an outstanding teacher you need to have a variety of skills and attributes. I believe
as a teacher I need to be passionate, a leader, have successful classroom management skills, and
and have full content area knowledge. I need to have high expectations, offer extra help, and
make school work interesting, relevant, and comprehensible. During the school day
accommodations need to be made for all student either academically, socially, or emotional. An
outstanding teacher is a role model to all students, and must be able to influence each student in
the classroom but in civic engagement as well. During my self reflection, I found myself strongly
agreeing to all the statements except for one. After reviewing my disposition statement, I feel as
if it relates to the questions that were asked in the survey. The only question that received a
lower score was “I am a thoughtful and responsive listener.” I am guilty of sometimes having to
many things on my mind, or a lot of things happening that can prevent me from providing my
undivided attention to a someone. Or I would ask someone to repeat themselves so I can
understand what they are saying/asking. Over the course of my program of study, I have learned
new way to engage my students across any curriculum. I have learned strategies for SEI students

that I have integrated in my classroom. For example, I have included language objectives for
every lesson to help my students write or speak in compete sentences. I plan to gradually reduce
my sentence stems and have my students write their sentences independently. For my nest steps,
I need to make sure I am listening closely to anyone that needs my attention in the classroom.
There might be 30 students in the classroom, but if one needs my help, I need to make sure I give
this student my undivided attention. Also, I plan to continue to a passionate leader, and continue
to grow my students academically, socially, and emotionally.
