V. Learning Materials
1. Content Materials:
Technology is the application of scientific knowledge for practical purposes. Technology
is anything by which people do their jobs easily. People create and develop technologies
with their great ideas in order to always help them do their activities. That is why
technology always develops time by time and ideas always come to people’s minds to
make anything as simple as possible. For the simplest example, in the year 2005, people
used telephone to communicate with other in distance. Nowadays, smartphone have
more complete features for people to communicate in very easy ways.
Telephone was found by Alexander Graham Bell in 1876. He together with his assistant,
Thomas Watson did trial error of using their first telephone. He declared his great
discovery in March 7th 1876. History noted that John Goeken and Craig McCaw
introduced new telephone which was somewhat without any cable to operate. This new
system imitate how the two-way communication by using a transmitter tower. Their
efforts to develop telephone caused the communication technology revolution and
affected million people’s life style. The development kept developing, especially in 1960
when Fennis Cable Works, a company in Finland established telephone industries. The
company, then, created a phenomenal product called Nokia. By 1969, Nokia and two
others, Ericson and Motorola were the biggest telephone industries.
In 1970, Martin Cooper from Motorola also created his first cellular telephone. It sized
big with little antenna on the top. By 1990, cellular telephone became smaller and
smaller with more functions. It began to develop some features, such as SMS, E-mail,
photo taker, video recorder, and even internet service.
