IICT,Bhadohi Domain: Fabric Scouring April 2014 –

Project Title: Comparative Study of Bio Scouring and Normal Scouring on cotton fabric and
its effect on dyeing.
 Open bath technique is used for normal And Bio scouring.
 Desizing of cotton fabric is done by Acid steeping method for both routes.
 Normal Scouring of Fabric is done by NaOH and bleaching of Fabric is done by
Hydrogen peroxide before dyeing.
Methodology
 Bio Scouring of Fabric is done in 3 way process First treatment with Bactosol
Coiq., Bleaching with Hydrogen peroxide and Bactosol SAP after treatment to
fabric before dyeing.

 Fabric Scouring Loss substantially decreased from 4% to 3.53%.

 Wicking Test shows the good result and reduces average time of submergence
from 7.5 sec to 4.3 sec.
 PH of effluent discharge from Normal Scouring is 9.78 and of Bio souring is 7.16 .
Deliverables So the process is environment friendly.
 By applying Bio scouring process, industry can saves 40 Litres of water per Kg of
Fabric.
 The conventional Scouring process takes 2hr 50 minutes for completion as
compared to 50 minutes for completion by Bio Scouring.
