It is a love story filled with passion, a show that reveals the multiple facades
of the actors` talent. The relationship between Carmen and Don Jose
develops in the frame of the casting and staging of the play bearing the
name of the main feminine character. This matryoshka script makes the
show much more captivating. Carmen is the image of feminity and ferocity at
the same time.

constant searching and uncovering, everything we see around us that we
cannot forget and carry within us.

Where does that young girl entering shyly from the theatre door come from?
What secret is hidden into the huge magical box turning around at the centre
of the stage? What mechanisms will be activated by pulling all those levers,
by pushing all those buttons, by flipping all those switches? And who is that
little prisoner, enchained in the hold of a ship? On the stage, a huge cube is
the gate, the secret passage that separates two diferent worlds: the first
one is fantastic, dreamlike, muffled. Here, the little girl looks through and
interrogates more and more insistently that machine full of secrets. The
second one, that we peek through the eyes of the little child, is made of
bombings, dangers, escapes at sea. These two worlds are distant from one
another, but destined to collide with fatal consequences. Unless we activate
the right mechanisms.
The new show by Teatro dell’Argine, which opened Season 2016-2017 of ITC
Municipal Theatre in San Lazzaro (Bologna, Italy), is wordless, dreamlike,
poetic, harsh play. It’s a play about complicity and altruism, about mystery
and welcoming, about sea journeys and journeys inside ourselves. The show
challenge is that of being enjoyable by many diferent audiences, by adults
as well as children, by expert viewers as well as by theatre beginners, thanks
to a mixed language uniting puppetry, video mapping, actor’s theatre and
civil commitment.

playing with the idea of loneliness, the wait and hope for Mr. Right. In an era

A musical creation
The show is created around an audio universe, composed by Elsa Marquet
Lienhart and Irina Prieto Botella. The flute and the voice symbolize the breath
of life, the Earth’s and mother’s breathing. There’s a flute for each feminine
character: piccolo for the child (the puppet), a classic flute tuned in do for
the young woman and a grave flute tuned in sol for the old woman. The
other, the character with multiple faces is represented by percussive musical
elements.

And what if animals could speak one day? And what if human love would be
perceived and filtered through the soul of these animals? Innocent
Challenges is a very simple story about very complicated human aspects.
Somewhere, at the country side, two neighbouring youngsters fall in love and
are lovey-dovey finding out to their amazement – the both of them and their
parents – that love has also consequences, more specific a baby. The news
upset the human lives, as well as the lives of the animals, especially
because, eventually, a decision has to be made. The wise intelligence of the
animals and the intelligence- sometimes sly – of humans are analysed
through comparisons, leading to questions about sacrifice, truth, choices and
…godliness. It’s a fable-show which talks about profound things understood
by people of all ages.
In the 15th of October 1946, it was inaugurated the Great Hall of the Odeon
Theatre (the nowadays C.I. Nottara, found on the Magheru Avenue, no.20) ,
with the show A Midsummer Night’s Dream by William Shakespeare, in the
direction of Ion Şahigian, who was designated by Liviu Ciulei’s father to be
the artistic director of the theatre. Therefore, the engineer Ciulei, managed
to keep his promise towards his children, Ana and Liviu, who were in love by
the scenic art: he built them a real theatre. Every season the repertory
gathered on the two stages includes about 25 titles, both at the Horia
Lovinescu Hall – with a capacity of 339 seats and an Italian scene, as well as
at the Studio Hall – George Constantin – an elegant space with maximum 100

asupra creației artistice. Constant căutând noi mijloace, încearcă să
îndepărteze barierele spectacolelor live. Are un limbaj scenic profund, ridicat
Gloria was never a Swedish singer or a figure skating champion, but she
dreamed of it. Hanging in midair, looking uncomfortably overdressed, she’s
waiting for things to happen. Thud! A free fall entrance happens. A young
woman lies on the ground. The resemblance is uncanny. Could it be… her?

If within the arts, theatre represents the spectacle of our bodies, it means it
takes on an individual aspect and transcends the space on the stage as well
as the language furnished by the play, and connects with a broader universe.
Audiences for this performance will experience the expanse of this universe
through seeing three performers’ bodies decaying by a repetition of
repression and release, like how light from a collapsed star reaches us
millions of light years later. Together we arrive at the horizon of this
universe, where the audience will surely be able to find their own origins. You
never notice your own wonder because you are too close. Yu Murai

Cine ți-a arătat visele?
This play is not a treatise on dreams, it reveals the dream itself; it tells no
specific story, but rather acts as a mirror, reflecting the history that you
brought with you to the theater. Just don’t close your eyes… "This world is
not what it seems to be." The earth is large enough for you to destroy the
danger after you have flown far away from it, but everything changes when
you meet Sergeant Berthrand. The universe shrinks so small that looking
ahead you see nothing else but your own back. And as if to make up for this
measureless shrinking of the outer world, the inner world from a cozy
everynight dreamshow cinema turns into a immeasurable chaos. The world is
falling irrepressibly into two parts over which you equally do not have power,
being able just to hinder it from establishing its unity. Is it true that you have
not met Berthrand before? Who showed you the dreams? Who pushed onto
21
the surface of your conscience those thoughts, the very reminiscences of
which arise fear and disgust? For your soul feeling emptiness above
everything has always been the same...

It’s the story of a man who grows old physically and intellectually, but he is
very powerful psychically and from here comes his force of manipulating
people especially women. His supreme pleasure is to “collect” women of
diferent races, forms, age, typologies and personalities whom he preys on in
his Machiavellian style. At a certain moment, he also makes them commit
suicide or he kills them, in order to have a wider diversification of his
pleasures. He will reach the heights of human perversity, to the detriment of
all the dogmas imposed by the society. However, after a while, he meets a
person who contradicts him by handling all his challenges, being a woman
with special problems, who has constructed many personalities which she
can dispose of or return to whenever she wants. Also, she can switch
between them instinctively, when she is attacked by him. Trying to
manipulate and control her, he falls in his own trap, becoming dependent on
her love. He falls in love and he reaches the situation in which he renounces
at everything, including his life, in order to be remarked and loved by her.
He becomes a maniac in his obsession of reuniting the lost pieces of himself.
After a perfect spiritual and physical life who led to ancestral discoveries
which belong to the fantastic realm, a completely ordinary event makes her
aware of his true intentions and, when she realizes that she cannot bring him
to reality, she decides that he is the one who must die and not her. How will
these all happen?... you will see it all in the show made by the Dance-Theatre
Company Microbis.

port unde sunt două bărci: una este condusă de Înger și duce spre Paradis;
Autoda Alma - The Soul goes through a dilemma, on one side the Devil shows
him the pleasures of life: jewels, wealth, power. On the other hand, the Angel
shows that his salvation is necessary, since she has a sinful soul, covered
with vanity. In the Auto da Barca do Inferno, Gil Vicente places several
characters in a limit situation. All are dead and arrive at a port where there
are two boats: one is led by the Angel and goes to paradise; the other,
commanded by the Devil and his companion, goes to hell. The characters
present themselves before the spectator as in a parade, at the end of which
each one will have to face his destiny.

Formed 46 years ago, for five actors, Comuna Teatro de Pesquisa is now a
cooperative of actors, technicians, administrative and general support staf,
personnel with a long experience as far as working in groups is concerned. In
1988, it was awarded the status of a Nonprofit Public Utility. Since 1972 it
presented over 150 productions, of which 80 original texts and classic
Portuguese dramaturgy, universal classical texts and contemporary
worldwide theatre. It is one of the most internationalized Portuguese
companies which performed in the main International Theater festivals. In
2006, by the invitation of the President of the Republic, Jorge Sampaio,
Comuna Teatro was part of the presidential entourage to represent Portugal
in the Official State visit to France and Belgium. It always divided its
theatrical creation in three important sectors to unite and motivate the
diferent age and cultural centres: shows for a general audience, for children
and youth and more specific audience – musical-theater or concerts based
on Portuguese poetry "The Word of the Poets". Comuna received over these
46 years main Awards, praises and mentions that any company aspires to.

Antigona is about love and devotion, noble traits of the human soul. Her
gestures have a special quality, just as the gestures of rulers with a peculiar
education should be. The spectacle is also about beauty, which brings near
26
the dance-theatre, the image-theatre, the actor`s theatre to the perception
of a public trained and eager for education through culture. Maria Miu`s
scenography reminds us of a Babylonian fresco, a trans-historical
transcendental space. The choreographer Hugo Wolf transforms the
movement from the second plane in a storm which enhances, through
gesture and body expression, the movement of the actor from the
foreground. The bodies advance ritually in an imaginary dance, unseen until
now. The music of Cătălin Crețu reinterprets through the chosen
chromaticism, encountered themes in the Asian folklore, using traditional
instruments, but especially invented instruments. The director mixes,
carefully the word with the gestures and creates a scenophonic frame in
which music is interpreted by the ancient chorus, when it does not chant the
Sophocles` words. The setting of the Mc Ranin after the plays “Antigona”
and “Oedip” by Sophocles emphasizes on the ritual theatre, which makes
you think of some sort of classic form of theatre. However, the setting
remains a modern one through the humanity discovered in the Antigona’s
character and not only. The spectacle brings in addition the character of
Oedip in order to ofer continuity and clarity to the story. The text is in prose,
therefore managing to bring it to the present and seems more likely, a movie
scenario.

The Palace Plaza is full of fierce protesters that want to save Antigone while
Creon is eating alone inside the Palace. Creon insists that the law of the
Nation has to be protected at any cost and his son Haemon should inherit his
belief. Haemon visits Antigone and asks her to accept her fault of breaking
the law. After persuading Antigone, Haemon leaves to speak to the King on
her behalf. On his way back, he witnesses historical events of innocent
people dying.
The name “Gachiga” has the meaning of ‘going together’, ‘create together’
and ‘ddd value’ in Korean. We focus on creating experimental plays with
classical scripts. We value the pure and naive. We feel responsible for the
environmental pollution that occurs during the process of creating our
performances. Therefore we are trying to come up with solutions for that
matter.

The Studio M Theatre was established in 2005 in the City of Saint George and
represents a unique theatrical language in the country. The team speaks
about the world in a specific language born from the fluctuation between the
physical theatres, contemporary dance, visuality, respectively the lyric and
dramatic theatre, formulating as its mission the consolidation of the two

“If I should say what kind of world this is, what would I say? Presented on a
theater stage, is this world a drama, a comedy or a tragedy? Or one big
dance performance?”

El
este un prizonier al minții sale egocentrice. Va reuși el să se elibereze? Va
străpunge sabia sa iluzia? Se va trezi în prezentul etern? Va transforma el

The well known story of a brave warrior led astray by his ambition and fate
becomes a tale of one man's journey from sufering to enlightenment. Is
Macbeth really a murderer or are the events he plays out only a projection of
his mind? Macbeth sufers because he identifies with the ego - the false self -
created by his mind. His sense of identity is reduced to the story he is telling
himself. He is a prisoner of his egoic mind. Will he manage to liberate
himself? Will his sword cut through illusion? Will he awaken to the present
moment? Will he transform resistance into acceptance and forgive himself?
Will the fires of sufering become the light of consciousness? Will he regain
the awareness of Being? The adaptation was inspired by the teaching of
Eckhart Tolle. Klaudyna Rozhin

biserica. Ne jucăm de-a bunăstarea spre a face jocurile consumatorismului,
a montotoniei.” Mircea MORARIU (Adevărul)
