1. The test consists of three parts: Part I, Part II and Part III. Each part comprises a recording.
You will listen to each recording twice.
2. Answer the questions as you listen. Circle or write your answers on the question paper.
3. You are given one minute to read all the questions when the test begins.

Strategies to Tackle the Listening Questions
Short Answer
Question
Skim through all the questions and answer options to get a general idea of the text that you are
going to listen to.
Underline the keywords in the questions so that you know what to listen for.
While listening, pay attention to the content and the flow of information delivered by the
speaker(s).
Remember that the questions in Part 1 (Information Transfer) generally follow the order of
information in the recording.
Jot down important points or ideas. Write down your answers.
During the second listening, get the information that you might have missed originally. Check your
answers too.
Carry out a final check. Check for spelling and grammar. Make sure your answers are within the
word limit.

Remember that some of the most likely answers may be paraphrased.
Some vocabulary given in the options may be found in the text.
