WHAT CAN WE OFFER SWAZILAND NATIONAL PROVIDENT FUND?

I attach herewith a copy of our brochure and training calendar for July 2010 to June 2011.

From both sets of documents, it can be seen that we have offer training in 11 thematic areas. In the
interest of time management and space, we shall highlight just a few.

1. Capacity Building

One of our core businesses is capacity building. We believe that well planned investment in human
beings can yield handsome dividends for an organization.

In order to survive in an inter-dependent economy, we need to constantly improve our knowledge

base so that we can compete in the global economy and advance economically. This may explain
why in most cases, international donor funds remain unused and returned at the end of the fiscal
year because of the nations inability to use its share of the resource.

It is for this reason, that INTCCON has as its core business as training.

The training includes the employers need to train the employee for better output and equally
importantly, the employees recognition of his/her need for better, more advanced training in order
to improve output. We want to avoid the situation where the employee is relying on yester years
out-dated skills for new technology, or where secretaries did not want to learn new skills for fear of
being given too much work.

2. Financial Planning and Management

The recent economic meltdown and the ensuing turmoil showed that huge savings can evaporate at
the stroke of the pen; giant financial institutions can disappear from the economic radar, landmark
companies with household names can become bankrupt within the blinking of an eye. These
unfortunate losses showed that we live in a very volatile and complex financial world.

In view of the above, individuals, and indeed, organisations, have become more concerned about
the finances of their organisations and indeed the welfare of their employees. How can employees
avoid living from hand to mouth? And more importantly, saving during the time of plenty
(employment) for the lean years (retirement).
From the list of courses in our brochure, we can offer courses in the area of finance to improve
service delivery as well as financial management for and during retirement.

3. Counselling

A few decades ago, we were our brother’s keeper. Then came the era of “I am old enough” followed
by that of rights without corresponding responsibilities. As if that were not enough, the concept of
nuclear family and peer pressure invaded the family fabric and by extension, the community and
the nation. Behaviours and acts that were once taboos that went against the ethos, the bedrocks
and the foundation of society were eroded. In our haste to become “civilized” without regard to
some indigenous knowledge systems that knitted societies together, what seemed to be science
fictions are now every day occurrences.

It is no wonder that counselling for both young and old, rich and poor is now a booming business.
While most PhD programmes take three to four years to complete, most PhD programmes take five
to six years to complete, thus enderscoring the importance attached to the profession.

We at Intccon have the expertise to provide tailor-made courses in various aspects of counselling
to ensure high output from employers and improve employer-employee relationships.

4. HIV and AIDS

A few years ago, a terrible disease, a silent serial killer, previously unknown to the human race,
began to kill people in the most alarming way and circumstances. It produced panic, fear, guilt,
hysteria, accusations, terrible suffering and always, at the end, death. The cause of the massive
death was identified as human immuno deficiency virus (HIV). Today, HIV and AIDS has become the
most dreaded plague in the world. It is said to have killed about 10 times more people than those
who were killed in both World Wars I and II. The pandemic, which has reversed almost all the

development gains that were made in the last 15 year, at one time seemed to have rendered
humanity defenseless.

Initially, there were low job outputs followed by unexplained long absences from jobs, protracted
illnesses and loss of lives, loss of people with skills. It became so severe that some countries in the
region decided to reduce the period for training graduates from four to three years in order to be
able to cope with the rate of replacing departed employees.

At that time, contracting the virus was synonymous to a death sentence; but not any more. With a
better understanding of the biology of the virus, counselling and management strategies, people
living with HIV and AIDS can live for more than 25 years of active and productive life.

At Intccon, we have the expertise on the management of HIV and AIDS in the place of work and at
home.

5. Information Communication Technology

We now live in the electronic age. Little did we know about 10 or 15 years ago, that a grand mother
who could not distinguish A from B, no matter how large the alphabets were written, would be able
to talk to her grand child, five thousand km away, using a cell phone.

Gone are the days, when log tables, square root tables, slide rules and calculators were the order of
the day. This is the digital age where one either blends in or gets left out and very fast.

Communication and the mode of communication have become very fast. Illiteracy is no more
confined to the inability to speak English or French, but it now includes inability to use facilities in
the much dreaded “magic box” called computer. Proficiency and skills in computer usage is now a
MUST for most jobs.

Individuals and organizations tendering for the provision of products now have to make
presentations using PowerPoint facility of a computer. In some cases, the presentation and how it
is packaged, rather than the ability to provide the product, may be the decisive factor in securing
the bid. It is no wonder that media and advertising houses are now making fortune on the training
of presentations, advertisement and customer care.

Most organizations these days emphasize on efficient information management system. Filing
cabinets are almost becoming extintc. Most accounting systems are now computer aided. The
days of copy typists are numbered as most organizations now require administrative assistants or
executive secretaries with sound computer knowledge and skills in word processing, Excel and
PowerPoint and the use of the Internet both for communication and for sourcing information,
especially for senior managers, now require secretaries that can handle executive level reports and
assist with the preparation of presentations of reports at Board Management Meetings. The above
underscores the importance of information communication technology.

international courses. These fees include among other things cost of tuition, handouts, a Laptop
computer for participants to use during the course and take away with them after the course and a
trip to NEIGHBOURING Countries such as South Africa or Mozambique.

For courses where a Laptop computer is not part of the package, nor excursion trips to
NEIGHBOURING Countries, the fees are less. The fees are negotiable depending on the thematic
area and the duration of the course.

IN-HOUSE TRAINING
The financial meltdown across the globe has resulted in reprioritization of expenditures and
training and capacity building has been hit hard. This has seen external training arrangement go off
the training budget of most organizations and in-house training take the centre stage. We at intccon
have a robust out-reach program that is enabled by our unique spread across the globe and
therefore easly rich out to any destination so easily to offer our clients customized training in their
