New York City is practically surrounded by water. Due to this, there is quite some precipitation. In New

york some bodies that surround it are the Atlantic Ocean and New York Harbor. Because of how hot it

can get in summer it rains more throughout fall and winter. This also has to due with how much water

there is nearby.

Geographic Effects of Mountain

In New York City there are many mountains. Some of them are Gothics, Mount Marcy , and Indian

Head. Because of this there can also be a lot of precipitation. In NYC the prevailing winds arrows

points south east. Because of how the wind goes that is where the rain or precipitation hits most.
