CITY OF REVELSTOKE

BYLAW NO. 2224

Being a Bylaw to Amend Zoning Bylaw No. 1264, 1984

WHEREAS the Council of the City of Revelstoke has adopted the City of Revelstoke
Zoning Bylaw No. 1264, 1984;

AND WHEREAS Council has deemed it desirable to prohibit the use of cannabis in all
zones until a complete regulatory program is developed and approved by Council.

NOW THEREFORE the Municipal Council of the City of Revelstoke, Province of

British Columbia, in open meeting assembled ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:

1. THAT this Bylaw may be cited for all purposes as the “Zoning Amendment
Bylaw No. 2224”.

2. THAT Zoning Bylaw No. 1264, 1984, Schedule B be amended by adding the
following definitions:
“Cannabis” means all species and genus of the flowering plant in the family
cannabaceae, whether growing or not, including the seed or clone of such plants;
“Cannabis Dispensary” means a business or service used for dispensing, selling
or distributing Cannabis, or any product containing Cannabis, for any purpose
including medical use;
“Cannabis Production Facility” means a business or service growing, cultivating,
germinating, producing, storing, warehousing or packaging any product or thing
containing Cannabis;
“Horticulture” means the cultivation of the ground for the purpose of growing
fruits, vegetables, plants or flowers, including non-soil bound operations such as
hydroponics but shall exclude the growing of Cannabis.

3. THAT Zoning Bylaw No. 1264, 1984, Section 5 – SUPPLEMENTARY

REGULATIONS be amended to include the following sub-section:
5.1 Regulations Applicable to All Zones – Residential, Rural Residential,
Commercial, Industrial, Public Use, Urban Reserve and Airport Districts
and Comprehensive Development Zones
In addition to the general prohibition in Section 4.1, the following uses are not
permitted in any District or Zone unless specifically provided for in the District or
Zone:
(1) Cannabis Dispensary or Cannabis Production Facility
