CRITICAL REVIEW/ Final Major Project

Student Name: Mantas Bruzas Pathway: Fashion Promotion

FMP Title: The Absence of Unity

To be handed in alongside your FMP hand-in

1. Briefly describe the context of your project. Describe how a range of

critical perspectives helped you realise this idea. (max. 50 words)
My project explored the division between people present in society looking
at different regions of the world. I was helped to realise this ideas through
the use of my FMP proposal which helped me always stay on track, my
bibliography to collect sources and my in class crits and presentations.
2. How did you use your researched contextual perspectives to
develop your project? (max. 50 words)
I explored a variety of concepts throughout the project. This was constantly
pushed forward by the research that I was conducting both primary and
secondary. I was able to find new ways of presenting my ideas that would
communicate to my customer and explore my concept in more depth.
3. Please discuss your exploration of alternative ideas and how they
led to your final outcome. (max. 50 words)
I believe that by looking into the concept of censorship I was able to develop
my final idea more effectively and lead myself into exploring my main topic
of homelessness and how we as a society hide it instead of being united
and helping the homeless.
4. What systems did you use to plan, organise and develop your
project? Please reflect on the effectiveness of these tools. (max. 50
words)
To plan my project I was using calendars and notebooks in an organised list
that would allow me to work to my set goals and adapt my timeline if any
difficulties had been raised. I had also made a temporary timeline but I did
not use that as effectively.
5. Discuss practical skills you employed to realise your project.
Describe how you explored, adapted and stretched your skills and
knowledge. Are there specific skills you have developed that will affect
your future course/career? If so, describe said skills. (max. 100 words)

For this project, I explored how I could use imagery more effectively in order
to communicate to my customers who like to receive their information in
small segments using imagery and text. By looking at photographers and
other artists I was able to find a way to do this effectively. I believe that I also
developed my photography further by looking at photographers like Daidō
Moriyama and Nan Golding.
6. What type of evaluative and reflective records did you keep? How
did a continuous analysis help you to inform and develop ideas?
Provide specific examples. (max. 50 words)
I used annotations as amore concise way of evaluating what I had created/
researched which helped me push my self forward and stopped me from
stagnating.
Blog evaluations helped me look at subjects in an in-depth way that helped
me to develop my concept overall.
7.1 Discuss the range of considered strategies you employed to
present your personal project.
7.2 Who is your audience/ customer? State what type of end user you
had in mind for this project, and how/where project would be
presented.
Please add visuals to illustrate your plans. (max. 100 words)
To present my work for this project I decided to go for a more minimal
approach to presentation sticking to a simple 3 image layout and a
magazine. I decided to do this as it worked with my customer who is
interested in seeing images without any distractions like fancy displays or
weird lighting.

My customer is a younger creative who likes to explore the world through

imagery, because of this I decided that my work would be presented in the
photographer's gallery where my customer would come and look at the
imagery whilst also having a chance to purchase the magazine alongside.

8. Overall summary: Describe a few key points to take away from this
experience, and a few things to change about your approach to
creative production. (max. 100 words)

Overall I believe that by exploring this project I was able to find my own way
of researching that helped me develop my ideas in a more effective and
cohesive manner. I learned that research needed to be more in-depth and
not just take at face value, which would give my work a new perspective.

Although I learned a lot on through this project I believe that I could use my
time keeping skills more effectively to make sure that I am always on track
and do not lose my workflow making me fall behind.
