This document provides an 8-step procedure for installing an EZ-600-NMC-2-D connector on LMR-600 cable. The steps include flushing and squaring the cable end, stripping the cable using specific tools, deburring the center conductor, flaring out the braid wires, and threading and tightening the connector onto the cable while applying the proper torque.

EZ-600-NMC-2-D Connector Installation Procedure on LMR-600
1) Flush cut the cable squarely. 2) Strip the cable end using side 1 of CCT-01 cutting tool is recommended. the CST-600 tool.
3) Debur the center conductor
using the debur tool on side #2 of the CST-600 tool. Conductor end 4) Strip back the jacket using side should be slightly chamfered. #2 of the CST-600 tool. Make sure that the thumb wheel is set to clamp.
5) Make sure the braid is straight. Square the
connector with the cable and twist onto the cable until it bottoms on the jacket 6) Flare out the braid as shown. (THE BRAID WIRES SHOULD BE FLUSH (MAKE SURE THAT 100% OF WITH THE END OF THE CONNECTOR BODY) THE BRAID IS FLARED AWAY FROM THE CORE)
7) Begin threading the front of the
connector onto the back end while 8) Tighten firmly with two 15/16” keeping the back end firm against wrenches. Torque connector to 50 in- the jacket. lbs or until O-ring is barely visible. Last revised 6/4/12
