I’m a young Italian architect, born in Calabria specifically, in a
beautiful land full of a great natural heritage. I chose to study
architecture because I always remained captivated by its expressive power
and its lightweight nature of embracing the environment and transform it .
I am a very humble guy, determined and with so much desire to get involved.
I know what it means to commit to something until its achievement,
work in a methodology in order to meet deadlines and deliveries.
My strengths? Well , i’m focused , pay attention to details ,motivated and I
enjoy work that pushes me to think outside the box. My greatest weakness?
I’m quite self-critical! I always try to analyze why something went wrong.
I’m a very dedicated person and I expect the same kind of application from other
people. Some people would consider the fact i’ ve never worked in this field
before as a weakness but i’ve no preconceived. My dream is to be an architect
and i know that i’ve to practise hard to become a good one. I would like to
work with a motivated collective in a workspace. I’m nice and sociable but in
my opinion my best quality is the resilience. I look forward to hearing from you.

spect to the roadway (-5.00 m) and has a rectangular conformation, with a trim spelling
characterized by a read gradient. The area has an area of 6000 square meters, a volume
of 10 thousand square meters cubi.Il project interprets the opportunity to contribute to a bu-
ilding based on the composition of two main spatial elements: a podium, which connection
structure with the context of the physical environment, and a temple which abstract ele-
ment of impaired contextual direct, yet suggests a new expression to be introduced in place.
On the other hand, the podium and the temple have always been two architectural ele-
ments strongly related to each other that, in mountain areas, may propose an innovative
reading of the report, that the proposed architecture can determine locations with a ac-
cented articulation morphological and strong presence of the surrounding mountains.
The podium, basement element of mediation with the ground, is therefore the connecting
element between the different dimensions of the surrounding space; the temple, by definition,
absolute and abstract from the context, it can take on the role of representing the new features
that the aggregate gains to give the whole building a new vocation urbana.Il prifa phase project
includes a study of a work which I have chosen the Caja Granada by Alberto Campo Baeza,
and its reworking by inserting it in my context to create a multi-functional shoppingcenter.

the SAN SPERATO PARK
Prof. Arch D.Colafranceshi

The project following landscape design course object aims at the retraining of an
area degraded and in abandonment state, located near the periphery of San Sperato
hamlet of Reggio Calabria. The objective is to return the interest area a linear park.
From a first analysis of the surrounding territory and his morphology the various share
differences of level are clear, a terracing trend completely natural. The presence of a
thick vegetation and of cultivations, which does from stage to degradation quints as
abusive huts, and crumbling homesteads. The more importance element is the pre-
sence of the torrent of Calopinace, which joins and transversely marks the site, and
at the time itself shows a line of communication between the mouth, The Mediterra-
nean Sea to east and the source to Aspromonte.Il west project aims at respecting the
natural conformation, suiting it the ground conformation and his personalities, what
flora and fauna. All this by an artery system, like a cobweb which wraps and traces
the ground and the presence of several bridges and footbridges, lines which take the
natural site trend again. Areas are used as urban spaces, squares, picnic areas, ur-
ban vegetable gardens, gardens and ways pedestrians, for bikes .The intent one is to
return the area several ways naturalistic, be glad besides of the intrinsic nature also of
the surrounding landscape by the enrichment following of a preliminary flora analysis.

COMPETITION PROJECTS
CONCORSO DI IDEE Master-Plan degli Affacci a mare dal
Porto Turistico Balaguer nella Città di Alghero - 2015
Collaboration whit NextBuild Studio (Milazzo - Sicily)
1/2

VALORIZZAZIONE DELLA TORRE ARCHIVIO DEL PALAZZO RICCa
Collaboration whit Arch.Giuseppe Rudi CR Studio

ne e pulsante di Manhattan New York City.

The Amsterdam Public Library (OBA) forms the centre of three major new buildings on the rede-
signed Oosterdokseiland, close to Central Station. The plan includes a library of nearly 30,000
m2 (including theatre), a large café, and 9000 m2 of office space. The Amsterdam design
incorporates an elevated plinth that acts as a refined transition space between the upper and
lower floors. The reading and study rooms are in the form of terraces, but instead of spiralling
up, they’re positioned around large, high voids. On the top floor is a terrace accommodating
the library’s theatre and conference rooms.
The main shape of the building is adapted to its environment; apartments on the west side and
on the wide avenue to the east of the conservatory must get enough sunlight. At the same time,
the library, on the broad waters of the Oosterdok, should contribute to an elegant skyline.

LEIDSCHE RIJN CENTRUM -Utrecht, 2005-2030
Internship at Jo Coenen Architect & Urbanism

Context
Leidsche Rijn Centre (Centrum) is located on the border of the Vinex housing estate Leidsche
Rijn on the side of the historical city centre. It constitutes the link between the new housing esta-
tes to the west of the A2 and the Amsterdam-Rhine Canal to the east, which runs north-south
past the city centre.
One of the ambitions in the Leidsche Rijn Centre master plan has been its pronounced urban
character, which creates a contrast with the surrounding housing estates. The basis of this was
established in the form of a grid pattern. The urban character is expressed in relatively high,
dense building development. The centre is surrounded by landscaped, clearly delineated zones
such as boulevards and parks. This clarifies the identity and recognisability of the Centre. Three
aspects make Leidsche Rijn Centre unique: its central location, its diversity and variation of
functions, and its height differences.
Construction
The composition of the town centre district builds on the tradition of the Western European city
and consists of a public area that is, as it were, cut out of a mass of buildings of equal height:
the centre consists of a network of public spaces with alternating atmospheres and experiences.
The squares and streets acquire their specific significance through their dimensions, layout and
intended use, such as the ‘Stadsplein’ (Town Square), the ‘Stadstuin’ (Town Gardens) and the
‘Singel’ (Boulevard). Accents in building height and differentiation in the programme contribute
to this. The average building height in the centre is five to seven storeys. The gradually increa-
sing ground level plays a crucial role in the character of this district.
Upper town/ lower town
The difference in height in ground level is a major characteristic of the Centre. In order to cre-
ate a link in Leidsche Rijn Centre from the boulevard to the A2 tunnel, a height difference of 7
metres will have to be bridged. This will create a lower-lying district and a higher-lying district.
This difference in height will be used to establish the identity of the town. The transitions between
these areas will mostly be in the form of gradually sloping streets. At certain points, there will be
contrast, creating special places.
The project will result in a variety of special elements that are notable for their careful detailing
and integration. Through-traffic will be smooth-flowing for car, bus, bicycle and the disabled,
as exemplified in the elevation in the ‘Petit Boulevard’ and the ‘Diagonaal’. At a number of
points, such as the street adjoining the Singel and at the ‘Stadstuin’, these height transitions are
richer in contrast, with steps. These elements, such as revetments, steps, ramps, etc. derive their
strength from their mutual cohesion and their connection to the surrounding buildings.

he OCC (International Education and Culture Cluster) is the new cultural building for the city
of The Hague. The new building will provide accommodation for the ‘Nederlans Dans Theater’
(NDT), ‘Het Residentieorkest’ and ‘Stichting Dans- en Muziekcentrum Den Haag’ (DMC) and
the Royal Conservatoire.
The OCC is being built in a design and build by Boele & Van Eesteren i.c.w. Visser and Smit
Bouw. The new building will replace the current Lucent Dance Theatre and Dr. Anton Philipsza-
al. The typology is based on an arrangement of the venues next to each other, surrounded by
a ring of music studios and classrooms. The ground floor and the first floor contain the main
public spaces. These are accessible from all sides. The OCC is designed in conjunction with a
new urban plan containing also apartments and hotels.
