The Structure of Green Practice

Practices that promote the conservation of the limited natural resources we have on this

world are being increasingly looked towards as the planets way of surviving. Through our

technologically advanced world there are more prevalent concerns over the amounts of rising

pollution and the ever-increasing threat of global warming. The efforts to increase the country’s

conservation of natural resources through green practices such as wind, water, and solar power

have come a long way. The government along with other local entities should have a bigger role

in fostering and allowing green practices to flourish within the U.S. through an integration of

coordination between the two bodies.

In America, the concern over green practices has become a hot-topic issue itself, but few

efforts have done anything to stop the ever-concerning issues with the stability and accessibility

of our ever-depleting supply of limited natural resources. People innately use an excess amount

of supplies in order to get the maximum value and convenience from the product, such as the

simple task of leaving the water on while brushing one’s teeth. Apart from natural resources the

growing amount of CO2 pollution is another cause of worry due to “… the United States, China,

Russia, Japan, and India altogether account for 54% of the world’s total carbon dioxide

emissions, which represent the largest share of man- made greenhouse.” (Source E) For

American citizens this should be a wakeup call to the lack of awareness we have without use of

fossil fuels and the burning of them. Factories are not the only perpetrator of this endangerment

to society, but the simple use of cars and automobiles can create an upset in the overall balance

of CO2 in the environmental atmosphere. Other countries have increased efforts to stop the

threats imposed by the lack of environmental policies. “It’s time to take… a look at how

Singapore’s transportation policymakers deal with the tyranny of the automobile…. Tax policies

that encourage conservation and punish waste just make sense….” (Source B) For the United

States, many companies should put their foots down and stand up for better green practices

across the board to see their endeavors survive. The government can play a major role in the

efforts by implementing policies such as Singapore that retroactively coerce consumers and

companies into saving the environment by conserving the precious materials on the planet.

Global warming has seen plenty of debate in recent years due to the ramifications it has

on everyday people and the entire world as a whole. It has been the threat to wipe out the planet

with the extinction level impacts. Global warming can break down the biosphere as well as tear

down all the biodiversity within ecosystems allowing for no time in order for adaptation to occur.

The main thing perpetuation this problem is CO2 emission and the government has been doing

anything about it. “Few things are more appealing in politics than something for nothing… ‘For

about a dime a day, we can solve climate change…’” (Source D) The only way to massively

reduce the threat and reverse the effects of the over-bearing concerns of global warming is to

have government enforces policies. With the government working alongside local people and

businesses there is a way to reverse the impacts that can occur by our lack of green practices in

America.

The Sagebrush Rebellion in the U.S. was in protest of the government’s mishandling of

the environment. Many critics point out that since the government has done little-to nothing for

the security of the planet for decades, only companies themselves can implement good green

practices. However, the government is still the only way to create cooperation and incentives for

people to listen, in order to better society, “I am convinced that the best way for America to solve

its big problem… is for us to take the lead in solving the world’s big problem.” (Source C).

America is single-handedly the only country that can revive all the people through the integration

of policy and cooperation of businesses with a plan that can create disciplined devolution

between the two groups thus increasing the amount of green practices and their overall

efficiency.

With the potential harms of the overuse and careless use of natural resources green

practices have been seen as an opportunity to correct the mistakes of pollution and global

warming, The American government along with big businesses can create a system of polices

centered toward fostering better green practices abroad.
