Title of the project : Automatic Lifting system For Physically

Challenged people to board the Indian Trains.

Summary of Project : The main objectives of the this work are,

 To fabricate the prototype of the lift.

 To design an automatic lifting system for physically challenged people.

The theme of this project is “Accessiability for disabled” especially to make them comfortable in
getting in/ out to/ from trains. This plays a vital role in increasing the mobility of disabled people using low
cost resources. Also, We aim to provide confidence to the specially abled person by making them act
independently without relying anybody.

The proposed model is comfortably set inside the interioir construction of the train. It could be operated
by an individual specially abled person and/ or guard. The main advantage of this model is that it operates
with the help of pneumatic cylinders and is activated using the compressor available in train.

The operation of pneumatic cylinders depends on the switching of pneumatic solenoid valves. The
solenoid valves are connected with the relays circuits and in turn, the relay circuit and sensor inputs are
connected with Arduino.The sequence of operation is predetermined and programmed in the Arduino
microcontroller chip.
