Learning Outcomes [ASSURE (State Objectives)]:
Cognitive Development:

Children who are 48 – 60 months of age (Audience) knows the features of the summer and
its fruits (behavior) among the different seasons (condition) with 97 percent (degree)

Children who are 48 – 60 months of age (Audience) compares the features of each seasons
and grouping their fruits (behavior) with different seasons’ fruits (condition) with 92
percent (degree)

Instructional Materials & Media [ASSURE (Select Strategies, Technology, Media and
Materials)]:
While the children are at breakfast, the teacher puts pictures about the summer season.
Then the teacher asks the children to find these pictures. Teacher gives the children a map
so they can find the pictures.
The places where the pictures are shown on the map were indicated with red marks. The
children all start to find these pictures together. After finding the pictures, the teacher asks
the children to examine these pictures. When the children examine the pictures, they will
see the song behind the pictures. The teacher will tell the children that these song belong to
the ‘İşte Yaz Geldi’. There are numbers at the beginning of the song. Children sort song
according to numbers in their beginning. Then the teacher opens the song and the children
continue to sing as much as they learn the song.

After the song is over, the teacher asks children how the weather is in the summer. She asks
which fruids they eat in the summer. After the children's ideas are listened, the teacher tells
what summer fruids are and shows their pictures.

Individual Learning Activities: The teacher gives the children a play dough
and asks them to make their favorite fruits
from the summer fruits using the play dough
individually.
Group Learning Activities: In music activity, they learn ‘İşte Yaz Geldi’
song and sing together.
Summary:
The purpose of this activity is to ensure that children learn about summer and summer
fruits. In addition to this activity is to ensure that children learn the song 'İşte Yaz Geldi'.
Measurement & Evaluation:
Teacher prepares a media tool for general information about all seasons and their fruits for
assessing and reminding them by using Infographics.
Measurement & Assessment Activities The teacher offers a multiple-choice worksheet
for Individual Performance: about summer fruits. The children circle in the
summer fruits among the other fruits.
Measurement & Assessment Activities Teacher ask children to create a board about
for Group Performance: summer season and its fruits for classroom wall.
This board includes graphics design and picture
of fruits.
Explanation: Teacher expects from children to broaden their perspectives about seasons.
S/he knows that there should be more time and ongoing process for the most effective
learning. Therefore, teacher uses additional activities and sources for reinforcing the shapes
in time.
