Discord Rules 
Summary of Discord TOS, Community Guidelines, Personal and Existing CMHoC Rules 
 
1. Do not defame, libel, ridicule, mock, stalk, threaten, harass, intimidate or abuse 
anyone;  
2. Do not make serious offensive statements about race, gender, sex, sexual 
orientation and religion. Debate is encouraged and acceptable, Jokes are 
encouraged and acceptable. Statements about groups IQ or mental health are not 
for example. 
3. Don’t Flood the Server. Copy pasta’s are fine, just don’t flood chat with them 
making other people unable to use the server. 
4. Don’t Spam the server. 
5. Don’t incite violence against anyone, especially against groups of people or 
public figures. 
6. Do not organize or participate in raids or other forms of harassment. Do not 
engage in or post content encouraging the harassment of individuals or 
communities. If someone is harassing you or your community, be proactive and 
block them immediately. 
7. Do not use circumventing tools that enable users to protect themselves and/or 
repeatedly targeting a user with unwanted friend requests or messages. Do not 
create spam accounts for the sake of annoying users with requests or other 
tactics. Do not disguise yourself in attempt to contact someone who has blocked 
you. Show respect to other people's desire for space. 
8. Do not share content glorifying or promoting, in general, self-harm or suicide. 
This includes any content that encourages others to: cut or injure themselves; 
embrace anorexia, bulimia, or other eating disorders; or commit suicide rather 
than, for example, seeking counseling or treatment. Online communities have 
the power to lift people up from dark places - be the kind of person who lifts 
others. If you notice that someone is in need of urgent help, please contact your 
local authorities. 
9. Do not share images of gore and/or animal cruelty. Do not share or post graphic 
images for sadistic pleasure, glorification or celebration of violence. 
10. Do not share content that is directly threatening someone's physical or financial 
state. Do not threaten to harm another person or someone related to another 
person in any capacity. Do not tell other people you will hurt or kill them. Do not 
dox people. Do not share or threaten to share personal information of another 
user - this includes but is not limited to home address, phone number, email, 
social security number, and photos. Respect other people's desire for privacy. 
11. Don’t do anything illegal on Discord. This is directly from our Terms of Service. 
We will take immediate action if you: violate any applicable laws or regulations, 
or promote or encourage any illegal activity including, but not limited to, 
hacking, cracking or distribution of pirated software, or cheats or hacks for our 
or another company or person's Service. 
12. Do not share content related to minors that is sexually suggestive or violent. Do 
not share or post links to images that depict minors or underage individuals 
engaged in violent, sexually suggestive, pornographic, shameful, or otherwise 
inappropriate situations. 
13. Do not share or linking to content with intent to shame or degrade another 
individual. Do not share sexually explicit content of other people without their 
consent. Do not share or promote sharing of revenge porn. 
14. Do not distribute viruses. Do not engage in or promote phishing activities. Do not 
threaten another user with digital harm including but not limited to viruses, 
hacking, and spying. 
 
 
Disciplinary Actions 
 
Rules violations will be dealt with using the following steps. Further steps occur 
when a user repeatedly violates a rule. Only exceptions are major rules violations such 
as doxxing others.  
1. Engage with offender to resolve issue and give offender opportunity to apologize  
2. Warning via chat or PM 
3. Server Mute (Length at moderator discretion based on offense) 
4. Server Role Removal / Use of Punishment Server Role (Users will have 
permissions removed or changed for a length of time at moderator discretion 
based on offense) 
5. Temporary Ban (Length at moderator discretion based on offense) 
6. Permanent Ban (With opportunity for appeal after length of time based on 
moderator discretion based on offense) 
 
Serious offenses such as racism, sexism, homophobic statements, etc will bypass the 
first two disciplinary actions. Egregious offenses such as posting gore, pornography, 
advocating for genocide, etc will bypass the first three disciplinary actions. Doxxing will 
always result in a Permanent Ban. 
 
All punishments will be at the moderators discretion at the time of the offense, but are 
encouraged to use words instead of actions. 
 
If not moderator is present at the time of the offense, members of the community are 
encouraged to record and provide evidence of the offense to the moderation team to 
make judgements at the earliest possible time. 
 
Definitions 
 
● Defame - ​damage the good reputation of (someone) 
● Libel - a published false statement that is damaging to a person's reputation; a 
written defamation 
● Ridicule - the subjection of someone or something to contemptuous and 
dismissive language or behavior. 
● Mock - tease or laugh at in a scornful or contemptuous manner. 
● Stalk - harass or persecute (someone) with unwanted and obsessive attention 
● Threaten - state one's intention to take hostile action against someone in 
retribution for something done or not done. 
● Intimidate - frighten or overawe (someone), especially in order to make them do 
what one wants. 
● Abuse - treat (a person or an animal) with cruelty or violence, especially regularly 
or repeatedly. 
● Flood - A User or group of users who are constantly posting messages in that 
chat. Preventing other users from using the chat in a normal manner. 
● Spam - A user or group of users who are constantly posting messages that are 
disruptive to chat. Additionally, users who are constantly pinging or PMing 
members of the community for no legitimate purpose. 
● Racism - prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism directed against someone of a 
different race based on the belief that one's own race is superior. 
● Sexism - prejudice, stereotyping, or discrimination, typically against women, on 
the basis of sex. 
● Homophobia - dislike of or prejudice against homosexual people. 
● Transphobia - intense dislike of or prejudice against transsexual or transgender 
people. 
● Extremism - the holding of extreme political or religious views; fanaticism.
