NOTE: - Fault Symptoms (FS) are normally shown on a single page. Depending on the number of the fault isolation se-
quences, a Fault Symptom may be split into two sheets.
- In a sheet, dotted lines denote that a part of the considered Fault Symptoms are referred to the other sheet.
For similarity between the two sheets, PREREQUISITES are repeated as well as the text at the top of columns.
The NORMAL state operation line is also boxed.
- Fault symptoms of some chapters directly cross-refer to the numbered blocks located in the FAULT ISOLATION
pages. These blocks are associated with the ATA REF, Fig. number of the Fault Isolation ( (Ref. Fig. 106 SHEET
01) ).
(b) Prerequisites
At the top of the FS, the prerequisites indicate the configuration in which the A/C must be when trouble shooting is commenced and also the list of the C/
Bs that must be closed.

- THE FLIGHT CONTROLS
- THE FLIGHT CONTROL SURFACES
- THE LANDING GEAR AND THE RELATED DOORS
- COMPONENTS THAT MOVE.
MOVEMENT OF COMPONENTS CAN KILL OR INJURE PERSONS.
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT YOU DO THE DEACTIVATION OF THE THRUST REVERSER
BEFORE YOU DO MAINTENANCE WORK ON OR AROUND THE THRUST
REVERSER. IF YOU DO NOT DO THIS PROCEDURE, THERE IS A RISK OF
UNWANTED OPERATION AND THUS OF INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO
EQUIPMENT.

Specific instructions for the wiring check are given where necessary.
These include values (eg. resistance) and connector/pin numbers where applicable. If no specific instructions are given for the wiring check, the check
must include a continuity test ( ESPM 20-52-21 ) and a test for short circuit ( ESPM 20-52-22 )
